STAY FAR AWAY.....DOOR FROM HELL!!
Front door hits you in the a__ on the way IN not OUT as the saying goes. I pulled front door handle to enter and ended up on the floor face first. Female employee came to my rescue and commented "the door has been broken for a while." What looked like the father and son owners came out to see what was going on, helped me up, and offered me some water. So far so good. I was feeling shaky, out of breath, hurting and frustrated. I told them to fix the door. At that point the owners denied that anything was wrong with the door and actually insinuated I WAS UP TO NO GOOD shaking his finger at me and saying "I know what you're up to" He at numerous times mentioned I was not hurt. They were out of control and missed the mark entirely. This was a humiliating, disgusting, and frustrating experience. I merely went in for some salami and got way more than I bargained for. Salami and bread have been the only items I would buy there because since it is no longer Amoroso's, the quality of food has gone way down. Now I will no longer step a foot on their property for anything. Too dangerous!! A business with no integrity, character or compassion. And lousy, expensive food.!

This place used to be good but now its horrible. I don't think the owner is there very often anymore because the last 3 times i went he wasn't there and its been worse every time. I won't even go there anymore for anything. When you show up, its take literally 20 minutes for someone to come over to you. The pizza comes out half thick crust half NYC thin crust. The pastries are old now, not fresh at all. The people that work there are retarded....I mean absolutely brain dead. And the prices in the deli/store are outrageous. Seriously, you can do better going to whole foods or trader joes....and for pizza grimaldi's or humble pie are way better. Stay away!

Since Amoroso's have changed owners it is sad to see how their food has really taken a toll. Not too long ago I went in and ordered a calzone and to much of my surprise they were pre-made. When I received my order it was cold and untasty. Being born into the restaurant business this is a major disappointment.

I lived and worked in the NYC Metro area for 20 years before moving to the Valley. Amoroso's is the place I have found that offers the best authentic NYC taste and atmosphere. It's where I take folks who think they know what pizza is all about, so that they can try the real thing!

Authentic italian, artichokes on the pizza, great wings, Italian behind and before the counter, cook flipping the dough for you, wonderful eclairs too. My office is near here and it's the group favorite for lunch. Also their sandwiches are the best! The prices are the most reasonable around. Try the Amoroso's vegetarian, it will amaze you!
