Years ago I went into a Smart Style and they butchered my hair. It was bad enough that people were stopping me in the street to tell me how bad it was (I'm not kidding). I went to Alex and he fixed it without shaving my head - which was incredible. Fast forward a few weeks, my mom goes to a different Smart Style, and I kid you not, they ruined her hair (I don't know why she went there instead of Alex, who I was recommending). She goes to Alex and he fixes it. Not just fixes it - but makes it so good that my overly-picky mother is thrilled. We've both been going to Alex ever since. It's really great because he's very professional, but very laid back. He can joke around, but you'll never hear anything negative or offensive from him. He takes the time to listen and find out what you want and then makes his suggestions, but ultimately in the end you get what YOU want instead of what he thinks you should have (which I think we've all experienced at least once or twice with other stylists in other places). The whole environment at his salon is very stress-free. Get some tea, coffee, water or wine, sit back and relax. You get a massage (if you want one, I skip but my mom always has hers, I'm just not a "touchy" person) and then you just sit back. I've never left unhappy. I know that sometimes it can be a "red flag" when a place has all 5 star ratings, but he really does deserve them, and I'm saying this as a customer, not a family member or a friend. He does a really fantastic job.

I found the "one" that works with my hair & he listens!! Provided by Citysearch Posted by by whatup36 at… on 09/24/2010 I stopped by after seeing a one day Saturday special on services at this Salon. I was welcomed by Tony. I had just finished a workout at Luna Fitness and didn't have intentions to cut my hair. After I entered the Salon I felt a good vibe. Needless to say, Tony checked out my hair and accommodated me right then and there. He worked with my hair first...not washing it...he dried it, comb it out and then asked what cut I was needing. I told him I needed volume on the crown of my head which seems like a simple request. But for some reason everytime I’ve gotten my cut I didn’t get the volume on my crown. Let me tell you when he told me he would wash my hair after the cut....I was sold and fall in love immediately. How many times do you leave a Salon only to go home to wash out the hair cut because of the tiny cut hair that gets on everything. Then the true test...My hair look awesome that day and every day after. Warning –they do not include tips on debit/credit card transactions bring cash.
Super service, super style! Provided by Citysearch Posted by TCorbin at… on 12/17/2010 I visited Ruby Jean's and Toney for the first time last night and am pleased to report that it was an excellent first-time experience. I went in to the salon looking for someone to make my hair look more natural and healthier. Toney understood exactly what I wanted and made me look and feel great! I've never had a dry cut before, but I am now a believer. Toney cut exactly the right amount off to leave my length but still get the unhealthy ends off and he nailed my color/highlights. In addition to all this, he is the first hairdresser who has EVER styled my hair the way I like it. I will definitely be returning and I highly recommend the salon and Toney to others! y curly hair. And, Toney is an interesting person to talk with. His talk is as intelligent as his hair cutting. Color is next!
