Faithful in the past, however, the last couple times I have strayed due to the low quality food. Szechuan can do better even in this economy. Located in an affluent area with loyal customers Szechuan please use better quality meats. Maybe even add a nice touch with homemade eggrolls. Do something to ""wow"" us.

h t t p://phillyist. com / 2007/01/05 / royal_flush_sze.php .\r \r Royal Flush: Szechuan Hunan Chinese Restaurant\r \r On my way home from a rehearsal, I stopped by Szechuan Hunan Chinese Restaurant to pick up as much Wonton Soup as I could carry.\r \r While I was awaiting my food, I went in search of the bathroom. I initially assumed the door marked ?Restroom? just off the dining room was the bathroom. I was wrong. It was actually a door that opened into a tiny landing at the top of a flight of stairs. On the left side of the staircase, there was a ledge with not one but three eroding air fresheners on it. They had long since reached their prime and were doing nothing to mask the putrid, bitter smell I was swiftly descending into. \r \r At the bottom of the steps, there was a huge mirror that faced the stairs at such an angle it looked like you were going to meet up with another staircase when you reached the bottom (at least from my vantage point- this may have been a result of my flu-y state, though). When I finally did reach the bottom, I saw three doors. To my left, there was a door to the Men?s Room. Directly in front of me was the door to the Women?s Room. To my right, there was an open door, exposing a man in a room filled with freezers. He stood in the middle of it, hacking away at something undistinguishable. I was immediately convinced this was where they sent people only ordering four dollars worth of soup to go be murdered and locked myself in the bathroom.\r \r Big mistake. You know the fake, flowery, chemical smell that?s supposed to make places seem clean but really just lets you know that nothing holy has ever happened in them? It was so strong in there that it burned my eyes. To top it off, the first few sheets of toilet paper were covered with some sort of slime. \r \r Read on at: h t t p : / / phillyist . com / 2007/01/05 / royal_flush_sze.php

Food here is always good, fast delivery, consistent. This is the best Chinese take out I've found in the city so far.

Living in the Rittenhouse area, and being a big fan of Chinese Food, I've eaten at this restaurant, and often order take out and delivery from here. As somewhat of a regular customer who generally enjoys a variety of their dishes, i recently had a very bad experience here. \r \r Usually they take 20 minutes to deliver, and so when it was almost an hour, i called to check in. I was flat out lied to - when they said it was ""on the way"" - not to mention being hung up on. Sure enough, almost a half hour later when it didnt arive, and i called back to ask what happened they simply said ""we're very busy, i'll check on it"" and then again hung up on me. I then called back and canceled my order. \r \r I was so angry at this poor customer service, that I had ripped up the take out menu and sworn the place off. But, the following day, the manager called me to apologize ? saying he wasn?t there and they were short staffed and handled it poorly, and that he would give me a discount on my next order. Mistakes happen (though this was really bad) - but generally this is a very reliable place with decent, inexpensive food, so maybe it was a freak thing. With all the sub par Chinese restaurants around, it?s worth a shot. \r \r A tip if you?re ordering takeout/delivery and you don?t have the menu ? ask them about the deal for the free item (fried rice, soup, noodles, etc..) they?ll give you if you spend more than $20.

Average food and service. The roast pork with chinese vegetables was nothing to write home about, but wasn't terrible either.

Quick and inexpensive. Best for delivery or take-out if you live nearby. Definitely the food you want showing up at your door when you get that Chinese food craving.
