My review is a letter I wrote to Michael, who has been cutting and highlighting my hair for 4 years. Up until about 10 months ago, I was extremely happy with Michael's haircuts. I don't understand how someone can be so consistently wonderful and then not be able to give the same haircut twice in a row. My husband has been going to Leanna, who he absolutely loves, but is now thinking about not going back to her, because Michael will get a percentage of her fee. I should mention that Michael is one of the owners of Salon Thalia. Below is the letter I wrote to him: I'm so unhappy with the haircut you gave me on Tuesday that I've decided not to come back to you any more. My hair is so unbearably short, I've been wearing a hat so that people won't see it. It seems that every time I get my hair cut by you lately, something is wrong and I have to come back in to have it fixed. I don't know if you don't hear what I want or don't care what I want. I've even brought in the same picture the last three times I've come in and only once in the three times did you cut it like the picture. I can't deal with getting a good haircut once in a while any more. And I feel that you should know why you won't see me in your salon any more. There's really nothing you can do, because my hair is way too short to even ""fix"" this time.

So, I wrote a review about Maria from Salon Thalia about a month ago, she gave me foils and what she called a toner and then finished with a hair cut. Before leaving the salon we talked about me coming back for a keratin treatment to defrizz my hair, since then my color still looks fabulous, the keratin treatment did exactly what she said it would do,which was defrizz my curls and cut down my blowdry time. My final recommrndation is A+. Professional,consistant,knowledgeable and skillfull.Thanks Maria!

So, my former stylist left the previous salon that I was going to without notice. I called Salon Thalia after admiring someones hair I had noticed while riding the bus and I was told to ask for Maria, I immediately felt comfortable after Maria gave me a very thorough consultation for color and a haircut. Not only did she explain what and why she was going to do what I needed, she followed through and my results were outstanding. I left the salon feeling beautiful and I'm going back in 2 weeks to get a Keratin treatment to help smooth out my curls and defrizz my hair. Once again I could tell that she was very experienced and I'm confident that the results will be outstanding. Stay tuned I'll let you know how it goes...

I have been getting highlights for years & I am very, very picky about color! I have also been to just about every salon in philadlelhia and nothing compares to Michael G @ Salon Thalia! He puts An immense amount of time and care into what I want as well as what is best for my hair type and texture. He gives the color that I want and is still cautious not to Compromise the health of my hair. I've also been trying to grow my hair and when I ask Michael for a trim, he does just that! He never goes scissor crazy. I always leave loving my cut and color! Even my very picky boyfriend ALWAYS loves it!! Michael G is not only an amazing stylist (the absolute best at color), but also very friendly and energetic- making the whole experience fun!!

I am very picky with my hair and I am not an easy client, but Michael G always takes the time to listen to what I want and what I’m concerned with. I always hate being rushed and feeling like the hairstylist really doesn’t take the time to listen to what I wanted. Michael is amazing, he has great energy and is excited to cut and color hair. His coloring is impeccable! I started coming to him after seeing my friend’s perfect highlights. He always takes his time to make sure the cut is just right. What I love most about him is that he does both color and cut SO well, before I had to go to different people to get the best result. Every time I go to him, I leave completely in love with my hair. Highly recommend Michael, my friends and I only go to him.

I was based in Philly for work for 14 months and went to Travis at Salon Thalia after a recommendation through a friend. Travis is an awesome hairdresser - my color has never been better and the cut is both flattering and stylish. \r \r Above all, Travis is a great guy! Really friendly, full of energy and knows just about every great restaurant and bar in Center City...\r \r If it was feasible to go back regularly from Asia to get my hair cut by Travis I would :-)

Had an awesome facial with Alissa at Salon Thalia. She was great. I have only had two facials in the past but this one was definitely the best. I felt like I could fall asleep it was so relaxing! My skin was real soft afterward. I saw a difference immediately. She recommended some great products and I am anxious to start using them. I have already booked my next facial in another month, and I cant wait!

Great men's cut!!

John has been cutting my hair for years. He is excellent at men's cuts!! Well worth the $$. Every time I leave extremely happy with my cut and often find myself calling him back to let him know how much I love it. The salon is definitely a step up from his old salon. The warm towels are a simple touch but they make a difference!! Now if only they had a manicurist the salon would be complete.

I came for cut and color the lady was nice and made my feel very comfortable. I had gotten the color I wanted and she did a wonderful job on the haircut, most people cant go off a picture but she did a great job.

I have been going to John for cut and color for years now and it has been a great experience since day one. He transformed my once blah hair into something with wow factor, and has kept it consistent. John is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to, and he listens to what I want while still doing what is best for my hair. Now that he is at Salon Thalia, the beautiful space and friendly staff make the experience that much better! I always leave feeling pampered and happy. Highly recommend John and Salon Thalia!!

I reviewed John when he was at Salon at 5th and faithfully followed him when he moved to Salon Thalia. This place is very luxe AND friendly. \r \r Previous review: ""The one thing in my life that is 100% low maintenance is my hair. We have an unspoken agreement that I won't torture it with products and instruments and it will in return not look like cold booty. So you might think that I'm not too picky about hair salons, but it takes a lot of talent to cut a nice easy-to-take-care-of coif that doesn't look totally boring! That's where John comes in. He is a great hair stylist and always listens to what I ask for (which is usually ""anything that will work without a hairdryer""). Katie at Salon Thalia has been styling my hair for years. She does an amazing job, she's obviously very talented and a sweet, funny young woman as well. I usually see her for a routine trim and highlight until recently she did my hair for a wedding. I was so happy with the outcome, I've finally decided to write up a little review. I've never gotten so many compliments, and I wish she could hear all of the great comments I got. She gave me a gorgeous romantic curl and absolutely amazing make-up. I felt like a princess!! I went in and left everything up to her. Her vision was brilliant and can be trusted for sure!!

John has been cutting & coloring my hair for over 4 1/2 years and he is absolutely brilliant. He always takes time to listen to my ideas and then comes up with some new creative idea of his own. I would never trust anyone else to hi-light my hair. There is no one out there that does it quite like the way he does. Salon Thalia is absolutely gorgeous... very spacious and upscale with out being over priced. I only wish that there were nail services available. It would make things much easier.

I have been going to Salon Thalia for 2 years now. I love it! I go see Carolyn every time and she does an amazing job. I actually have an appointment today. I have long brown hair and she is the first person I have trusted to really styling my look. She cuts long hair amazing and is an absolute pro at highlights and lowlights. Everything always looks so natural and not over done. The staff is so friendly and accomodating. I find the prices to be very reasonable because my hair always looks amazing. If you go, I 100% recommend Carolyn. She does and great job and always listens to what you want!

i have been going to salon thalia for about a year now and i love it... Maria is the best. I completely trust her with my hair. i started out just getting cuts until i destroyed my hair with box dye i went light brown to red to dark chocolate in one month... i called up she found the time to fit me in and brought my hair from dark chocolate to med brown. she made it look completely natural. she also suggested that my hair needed to be cut cuz of my severe dead ends. but because i told her i love my long hair she offered only to cut so much at a time.. as a matter of fact i got a hair appt tomorrow :)

I went there a while ago. Reading all this good reviews online. I admit that they had a great service. Very Professional. It looked nice and all.. but the haircut that i got was terrible. i went back to my hold hair saloon and fixed it after two days. They have a great management. and i know that they are going to write after this review. That i could have gone back and they would fix it for me. But i dont care. I wasted so much money. for nothing... If you like people who lick your A** for money. this is the place to go. But dont expect results ... And i just want to add that i now think that all this other reviews are fake. If you check the usernames. they all have done like only 1 review. and that is only for this salon. no any other stuff. Its clear that the owners or managers create accounts just to write reviews in here. Correct me if im wrong.

Last evening I had my first appointment at Salon Thalia with Katie for a full highlight and cut. Let me begin by saying she was so sweet and LISTENED to me- I have never had any stylist take as much time to make sure she understood what I wanted color-wise, and took her time cutting and styling my hair (for ex. she put the dryer down a few times to snip at a few pieces to make sure they were right). I am thrilled with the results and had a great first experience, you bet I am telling everyone about this place!
