Historic art deco foyer...I love the minimalistic luxury look!

The bathroom was spacious and clean, and the views from the hotel were great! The first night they ran out of non-smoking rooms, but the second day the staff was quick to move us into a fresher smelling room.

    Cool decor, accommodating staff

    Provided by

We stayed here 4-20-4-22 to enjoy the King Tut Exhibit. The staff was friendly and responsive, and switched our room after our neighbors had LOUD ""fun"" every 2 hours and we got no sleep the first night. As another reviewer mentioned booking through 3rd party sites, does not carry over your frequent stay info (we booked via gophila for the ""Philly's more fun when you sleep over"", so our preferences were not in the room upon arrival. This needs to be fixed, and the front desk staff apologized. The second room was clearly used by a smoker, but we were told we were being switched to a non-smoking room. We had dinner at Sole Food the second night, and the service was good overall, although our waiter took quite a long time to come back and take our cc, and the food was very tasty. ( I had Filet Mignon, and the chocolate sampler as a dessert). I would give them a second try, mostly for their accommodation.

    Won't Stay Again

    Provided by

My boyfriend and I stayed at Loews on NYE 2006. When we checked in we were told there were no king bed rooms left because we ""booked through a 3rd party"". I asked to speak to the manager and while we were waiting we overheard 2 guests checking in and both received king bed rooms! When the manager arrived, she also lied to us and told us they were fresh out of king bed rooms. I told her I just overheard 2 guests get king size rooms and then she ""just remembered"" they did have a ""few"" left and was able to find us one out of the kindness of her heart. Upon checking into the room, it was clean, but very small. I was not impressed and will never return to stay at Loews since it is not worth the money or aggravation. If you book a stay here, use the Loews website or you'll get the shaft. Apparently they frown upon booking through a 3rd party.

we got bumped from another local hotel on a friday night and ended up with a free room at the loews. it is a boutique hotel, but it was extremely clean and the standard room was large.

    Gret music

We went on A Fri night. The pianist was superb. Very non traditional too. The funny thing is when we asked him if he played jazz, he said he played ""non-Jazz"". Whatever that was it was a great change of pace. He was playing all sorts of stuff. TV themes (MASH), R and B (TLC), Heavy Metal ballads (Guns N Roses), and other piano pop (Clapton, Elton John, Billy Joel, Hornsby). He wasn't kidding. There was no jazz. At about 10 they stopped him and brought a DJ, and no one seemed to happy about it. Not even the DJ.

    JUKEBOX PIANIST

    Provided by

This place is a must if you are looking for a night of fun and great music. The greatest pianist I have ever heard plays here, I think every Friday. I was there last night and they were filming for the CBS show ""HACK"", but while they were in between shoots, Steve - who I think is the house pianist - dazzled the customers and the film crew with his amazing songlist - from Train to the Eagles to Alicia Keys to Billy Joel. It didn't matter what was requested. This guy could play it and play it dead on key. AMAZING.
