I tried one of Jon's cheesesteaks while back in philly for a few days and they are now my new favorite. Provolone with hot peppers on their garlic roll. Wow

I came here on a Friday night in the summer and sat outside on the patio. There were plenty of empty and our party of 6 was quickly seated. It was really nice to sit outside and watch the crowds up and down south street. Our waitress, Simone was friendly and attentive. She also split up the checks individually upon our request, which was much appreciated.\r \r The food however was just average. The menu wasn't overly exciting; it had your typical bar food: burgers, wraps, salads, etc. I had a thai chicken salad. It was decent, but had very few ingredients: lettuce, cucumbers, chicken, and peanuts. My friends said their burgers were decent, and the couple fries I had were really good (nice and crispy). Everyone's consensus was that the food wasn't bad, but wasn't great either.\r \r Overall, a pleasant meal with no complaints, but pretty average in terms of the food. There are much more interesting places to eat on south street, though if you're looking for al fresco dining around there, Jon's patio is the place to be.

I stopped by Jon's with my girlfriend and we wanted to grab a bite to eat. I noticed that they had numerous steaks on the menu so I decided to try one. I ordered the Porterhouse and when it arrived at the table I was shocked at how big it was, it was absolutely massive. It was suprisingly one of the best steaks I had ever had. It came with a choice of soup or salad and two side dishes. There was no way I was going to finish it, so I had it wrapped up and finished it the next day for lunch. My girlfriend ordered the Thai Chicken Salad and she said it was perfect as well. The weather was perfect that night and there was plenty of entertainment on the street. We usually attend Karaoke night and Quizzo night there and always have a good time. Jon's menu is very big so I find it a great place to take my friends to. The outdoor upstairs bar is great on Friday and Saturday nights and they have heaters and a fire pit throughout the year. They play good music and they keep their business clean. I've been going their for 4 years now and I always enjoy it. I would rate this place an 8.5 on a scale of 1-10

The food at Jon's is ok. Typical bar food. Nothing really specail. Where Jon's really shines is on a warm summer night when you can hang out on one of Jon's many decks over looking South St. The drinks are good and reasonablely price.
