Walked in on a Sunday for a pedicure about an hour before closing. Place was very busy, three nail technicians at the time. I was one of 4 waiting over in the massage chair. Waited about a half hour before someone finally came over to me.
While I waited, I observed a tech use the same gloves and tools she had used for a previous customer on a new one. I promptly asked my tech if she had cleaned the instruments she was going to use on me and if those were fresh gloves she was using. She assured me that they were clean, but what she did was turn the gloves she had previously used inside out.
She also got a little too close to my cuticle and made it bleed. And when she went to put on polish, I had to ask her to apply a base coat because it was clear that she was going to bypass that step. She walked away from me, saying something to someone in her native language, and returned with the base and top coat bottles.
The person I was with described her pedicure experience with me, and I found out that I did not get the massage I should have gotten on my legs.
All in all, I felt the technician I got was just trying to get through the pedicure in the quickest way possible. Don't feel I got my money's worth. And I tipped her pretty generously, which I should not have.
Beware and make sure they are using tools that have been sanitized and clean gloves.
