I'm shocked at all the horrible reviews! I've had such wonderful experiences with Germantown Cab, I go out of my way to do business with them. I had foot surgery a few months ago, and my ride didn't show up to take me home, so I had to try my best to get myself home on one leg. The cab (Germantown) that stopped to pick me up, actually got out to stop traffic to help me cross the street, then helped me get into the cab. I was so overwhelmed with pain and the difficulty of moving around, I completely forgot to get cash. He said there was no way he was going to put me out, and he drove me home anyway.
This isn't an isolated incident with one good cabbie. I've since taken Germantown Cabs many times, and each time the cab driver has gone out of his way to help me one way or the other.
Their cars aren't fancy, and they do seem to be more readily available in Manayunk/Roxborough than in Center City, but the guys driving those cabs are good guys, and I appreciate it too much to use anyone else.

This is the worst cab company ever. Seriously if you want terrible customer service and to arrive (if that even happens) two hours later, call them. Called a cab at 10:47. They said they would arrive in 35 minutes. 50 minutes later, called again and they said it's coming. Never came. Called again and they said that supposedly we told them we had a ride. No brains required to work there. So they said another one would be there in ten. 20 minutes later nothing. So I called up and talked to a ghetto idiot named Tiffany and the douche bag manager Talib. Both were rude and incompetant beyond belief and blamed me for them not doing their job properly and not understanding where I was located. Hello idiot, Google?? Then they hung up. And after another call, they hung up again. If you chose to do business with this cab company after reading this review, you have to be the dumbest person in the world. Good luck

I have had times when my cabs were extremely late. One time the Dispatcher with all the ignorance she could must hang up on me - I've had my words with her and I'm guessing because I was a frequent customer my rides seemed to be better. I will advise - visitng the Manayunk area or anywhere city avenue, they have a hard time knowing where to go so make sure you request a driver that knows where they are going and emphasize that 'YOUR NOT PAYING FOR IT'.

The cab was 40 mins later even after i called 4hrs ahead of the time I needed the cab..The dispatcher Was RUDE and Unprofessional, and so was the SUPERVISOR who said he didnt have time to talk to me because he was busy..\r I dont know how this Company is even still in business But I will NEVER take this cab again..\r Not ONE apology from the staff or the driver(who arrived on the phone and help a conversation the whole ride).\r

The one good thing I will say is that my driver arrived on time after setting up the ride the night before. After that, the entire trip to the airport was a complete disaster. Since this was a business trip that I was on, I wanted to pay for the ride with my company credit card as I do with other cab companies. When I didn't see a credit card reader, I asked the driver if he took credit cards. If he said no, then I would've found another way to get to the airport. He said, yes, but he didn't seem to happy about it. Even after I got in the cab, he asked me to go to an ATM first. Then, he said that he didn't have enough gas to get across town and needed to go the gas station. At that point, I got concerned about running late. He assured me that we had enough time. Then, the driver gets out of the cab and leaves the meter running. When I yell out of the door about turning the meter off, he responds ""You can turn it off"". Maybe the idea of hiring a cab has changed, but I'm pretty sure I'm paying HIM for the ride. I don't expect to have to do any work, so I made him turn the meter off. He says he'll charge me a flat rate to the airport and I ask how much. He says ""$50"". Keep in mind at this point, he still hasn't gone into the gas station to pay for any gas. At that point, I realize that $50 is way more than what I normally pay for a ride to the airport from where I was coming from - even with a 20% tip. I tell him that I'll give him $40. He agrees and goes to pay for the gas. When he comes out, he decides he doesn't want to take me anymore and calls for another cab. He still hasn't pumped any gas yet. At that point, I got pissed off and got out of the cab so I can walk 2 blocks back to my car to drive myself. As I'm pulling my bags out of the trunk, he's wasting my time trying to get me to stay and wait for the other cab, which was about half a mile to a mile away. Even if the cab was around the corner, there's no way I'm giving my business to a cab company like this. At the end, I barely made it in time for my flight. I would much rather ride SEPTA than give $1 to Germantown Cab.

Cabs are always late and the cabs reek of smoke. Worst of all, when I tried to call the company back to ask if the cab was still coming (1 hour LATE) the dispatch woman was AWFUL. She called me OBNOXIOUS for calling to ask where my cab was, when it was supposed to arrive an hour ago. I have never had a customer service rep be so downright rude in my life and I can't believe she still has a job. When I told her that I had been waiting an hour and forty five minutes, she told me that I was wrong and hung up on me. The cab NEVER showed up. All in all, it was the most unprofessional experience I have ever had with a taxi service, EVER. DO NOT USE THIS CAB COMPANY!!!

Firstable, a girl on the phone was not very friendly. I asked if she could call me back when she could arrange a cab for me and she said ok, never called me back.\r A cab arrived in 30 mins, which was ok since I was told so, but the driver was smoking in the taxi while waiting us coming out of our house. The window were broken and we had to bear the smell of smoke all way.\r This is not end of the story. I don't know if he did that to earn more money or just didn't know the way, but he kept going to wrong direction again and again and we stuck around our neighbor(Manayunk) for 30 min, while we needed to get to Center City within 30 min.\r \r Can't believe this happen before my very important business meeting. The guy should be fired.\r \r NEVER NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. if you don't have another choice, RATHER TAKE BUS OR TRAIN!!!!!!

I called for a cab and was told a half hour or less. 45 minutes later I called to see if a cab was on its way, and they hadn't even sent one out yet. a half hour after that, one showed up at my door. I live a mile away from them. The cab smelled like smoke. Don't use this service unless you don't have a specific time to be somewhere.

I would like to say that this company is one of the best around. I changed from Main Line Cab, they are very rude people. Germantown Cab have the nicest drivers. I would highly recommend them and the are very quick +++++++++

I used getmantown cab for the 1st time on new years eve to go see the ball drop in new York now I just call the driver 1st for all my rides 267-340-0175

I can't believe this cab company is so ghetto I can't even find an e-mail address for them. They treat Germantown residents like trash, almost ensuring a cycle of poverty. Well, screw you, Germantown Cab! Most people who live in Germantown are decent people! You really have to step up your timeliness, dispatcher courtesy and attention to complaints. You're horrible! The only saving grace you have is your drivers. Once again, you had me waiting 25 minutes to get a cab. It's the reason I don't call you UNLESS I MUST! You're awful, awful, awful. Pick it up or lose more business.

Do not use this cab if your (female) alone, the cab driver may be crazy!! I was thrown out, pushed ,punched, and had a milk shake thrown on me and then chased into an alley!! where I was able to hide and eventually get away, I called the company to report it and lets just say I am still on Hold........Run ,walk but whatever you do.do not use this company , You might in up in an alley Dead!!!!!!!!!

I waited for a cab over two hour and fourty seven minutes and I was at the er trying to get home at 1am on a Saturday night .The dispatcher said after the second callback after an hour and half wait the drivers do what they want and she don't have any control over that . The only way I received one was someone wald to Broad Street and flagged me one.The driver said it was never announced over the radio.It was four different fairs at the Einstein ER that evening all the way home I not once heard it announced. Now every time I talk to someone named April or Tisha I receive my cab in a timely fashion other than I wouldn't be able to rate this company.Weekends might be busy but us regular customers should be taken care of much better and the overnight dispatcher she could be a little more pleasant.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE WELL THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST I CALLED FOR A CAB AT 6+AM THE CAB CAME TO MY HOME AT 9AM HONKING THE HORN WELL I WAS GOING TO THE AIRPORT MISSED MY FLIGHT SO I CALLED BACK TO TELL THEM I CANCELLED BECAUSE I MISSED MY FLIGHT THE OPERATER SAID OH WELL THATS NOT MY PROBLEM THEY DONT PAY ME ENOUGH TO MAKE YOR CAB COME ON TIME AND HUNG UP ON ME I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE SO RUDE SHE SHOULD BE FIRED I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. It was my first time using Germantown cab and I was so impressed with the service. From the beginning everything was above satisfactory. The operator was pleasant and very patient when I told her my pick-up address. Within 10 minutes my cab arrived and the driver was very nice and avoided traffic buy taking short cuts. I got to my destination on time. This was a great experience!!!
