Located in Philadelphia, Central High School is a public, coeducational school, founded in 1838. The school offers a wide variety of courses, such as art, computer science, English, English as second language, health, International Baccalaureate, mathematics, mentally gifted programs, music, physical education, science, social studies and world languages. It serves more than 2,300 students in grades nine through 12, and offers various facilities, including a library with more than 70 Apple desktop computers, orchestra room and digital music studio. Its facilities also include graphic design, science and computer laboratories; wrestling gym; track; and football, soccer and baseball fields.
