I recently had my son's baptism luncheon at Anthony's Caterers at the IATSE Ballroom and had such an amazing experience. First off, this place is a hidden gem in South Philadelphia and the perfect place for an event. I will say that the venue was a bit nicer than I would have planned for a baptism and definitely more in line for an elegant wedding. However they had a wonderfully priced brunch menu that was equal to places half as nice. We had a brunch that included an omelet station and a buffet with french toast, bacon, sausage and potatoes, as well as, chicken piccata and penne a la vodka. I also added on a cheesesteak station as many of my guests were from out of town and would (and did) appreciate the "philly-experience". The food was great and the service was even better. We had young children at the event that were a little on the hyper side and the place was fine with me bringing in some games etc to keep them occupied and the staff even managed to continue smiling as my 3 year old son went around and blew out every candle that was lit in the place. We had an open bar for our guests in which we paid the final bill and the prices on that were reasonable as well (considering many places completely overcharge you for drinks etc). This place was wonderful and my husband and I will continue to tell everyone we know about what a great event they planned and delivered for us. I highly recommend you check them out for your next event.

I've been sending my daughter here since she was 11 months old. She spent 2 months in the infant room, which she loved despite my initially thinking it was a bit small. She'd cry in the morning when I dropped her off (typical), but when I spied on her before picking her up, she was always laughing, running around, and playing with her friends. She is now in the young toddler class & is transitioning quite well. She's now exposed to the "big" kids & is getting to do more fun activities. I agree with some previous reviews in that it can be quite difficult getting information from King's Kids. The office manager is a sweet lady, but often times my phone calls don't get answered in a timely manner & that can be frustrating. My best advice is to visit the center & forego the phone conversation. Ms. Hall, the director, is wonderful! The teachers at the center truly care for the kids & the kids adore them. Please note that kids >2 years are required to be uniform during the school year. There are strict rules & penalties regarding late drop-offs, late pick-ups, being out of uniform, late tuition, etc. However, these are fair & I've never had an issue meeting these rules. If you give the center notice, you have 2 weeks of vacation that you do need to pay.
Heard about this place through a friend of mine and thought it's about damn time I did something about my gut. My first training session was awesome! It was extremely tiring and I was winded while even the girls were pretty badass for this "beginner" class. It's cool though. Everyone is helpful, including fellow students and the instructors, and the others are really friendly, cool, and encouraging. I stopped by around 5:00 pm and even the way the kids class was taught amazing. Then I returned at 6:30 for the Thursday night beginner class I mentioned above. They have classes for everything. I even got to see some MMA grapling and stuff in the cage they have set up. Key note: Several of the guys in this gym are pro MMA fighters. Cool! Great prices, great instructors, good for beginners and advanced fighters. They have classes for everyone. HIGHLY recommended you check this place. The best way to experience it (even for a first visit), is to just jump in a session and see for yourself. Rich
