I am currently a senior at Virginia State University, majoring in Criminal Justice. Two years ago I decided that I needed to move off campus. I attempted living at the apartments off campus that has a contract with VSU. I recognized only after one semester that was not going to work for me. I began to do my research on apartments in the area. I located fifteen apartments in the Petersburg, Colonial Heights, and Chester area. I narrowed my search down to four loft style apartments and one regular apartment. Once I consider what would be a good fit for me, I made a list of must have amenities. The location, washer and dryer in the unit, electricity, and water was a must for me. My budget was set at 900$ and under for each month. After all of my requisitions this narrowed down my apartment search to one location, South Street Lofts. Fortunately for me I stayed under budget and came to find out that Wi-Fi was included in the rent. My boyfriend and I have been residence for one year and three months. I love the apartment loft style and price so much that I am considering graduate school and employment in this area after I graduate. The first year of staying in this residence my boyfriend and I only stayed at the apartment Monday night through Thursday afternoon due to our job location. We always wonder if the review were accurate in reference to the noise level on weekends. I am writing to inform you all that I have not had any issues with excessive noise levels in the past three months that I have been staying in the apartment fulltime. Management is very professional and only a phone call away if you have any concerns. The maintenance men are professional as well and are quick about getting around to any issues in the unit. The loft and parking is gated in so you must have a security key to get in and out of the gate, also to enter into the main door of the apartments. SLB 09/26/2014
I live here with my husband and kids for almost 4 years and I l can't say that I've been forced into signing my lease or that my rent went up 100$.This place has new management and maintenance and has improved so much in quality since.I've had problems in my home before and yes its build in I believe 70's but whatever the problem is it gets fixed right away. They are very helpful and professional at all times. The house does look like the model home they have for show. You have the opinion of a older home or a home with brand new appliance. As far as the pool goes its open every year. They had some problems last year but they were fixed and it's back open.BBQ is allowed in your backyard. The playground needs some work but every apartment complex has a budget and it's being worked on.They always working on making this place better and that's what matters to me.We like living here and we going to continue staying until the next duty station calls.
Excellent sales office, the women are the nicest I ever met in an apartment sales office. Maintenance always took care of my problems same day. Maintenance guy (James) has a very good personality, always friendly. He's always smiling and says "hey" whenever he sees tenants - makes a difference. Kudos to Sarah and the maintenance guy for service with a smile!
