The Physicians at Sports Medicine North are dedicated to the comprehensive treatment of musculoskeletal disorders with the ultimate goal of returning patients to normal function. We will provide the most advanced non- operative techniques as well as surgical options for high level athletes, workers, adults and children. Drs. Jeffrey Polansky and Ira Evans founded Sports Medicine North Orthopedic Surgery in 1985. Since then the practice has grown to 14 physicians, 16 physician assistants and 5 locations. The philosophy of Sports Medicine North has remained the same: A multi-specialty orthopedic group of physicians providing Boston quality care in the North Shore communities. Our staff's goal is to provide you with the best care for all your orthopedic needs. If you have any pertinent records, such as x-rays, prior procedures, or surgeries, etc, call your corresponding physician's office to request a copy of these records. This additional information is very important and will assist our physicians in determining the treatment plan most appropriate for you. Prior to your appointment, please make sure of the following: * Referrals or authorizations have been obtained * Necessary insurance forms and insurance cards must be brought with you * Please keep in mind that your copayment is due at the time of your appointment * You have a list of questions that you may want to ask your doctor

Sports Medicine North Orthopedic Surgery, Inc. (SMN) provides patients with a unique opportunity to receive all of their specialized orthopedic care under one roof at our main location. Digital X-Ray imaging is taken right here at the Sports Medicine North location. If you should require surgery, the Orthopedic Surgical Center is a state of the art facility, which is designed to make your surgery or procedure as pleasant as possible. MRI's can be obtained on the ground floor at the MRI Center of Peabody or at the facility of your choice. Physical Therapy is offered on the ground floor of our facility by Physiotherapy Associates. X-Rays: We are proud to announce that all of our x-ray units are now digital. Old-school x-rays were chemically processed much like camera film. We currently have 3 Quantum/Canon DR (Direct Radiography) machines and a Konica CR Machine in our 3 main locations, Peabody, Middleton and Newburyport. The physicians at Sports Medicine North decided to go with digital radiographic system primarily for speed and reliability. These x-rays units allow our physicians to view the X-Ray images within a few minutes of the X-Ray Technologists performing the exam which helps make your visit to Sports Medicine North easier.
