Fedde's is definitely high quality. Almost everything there is real solid wood. After shopping around at several furniture stores in the area, I've seen it all. Ikea style contemporary furniture made of all MDF, the asian places that advertise solid wood, but it's only solid wood in certain places and the rest is composite or MDF. And there are places that sell all solid wood, but the quality of the wood is just not that great. You definitely get what you pay for. Fedde's isn't cheap and you can probably get whole set of furniture for the same price as 1 piece at Fedde's, but you know at Fedde's that piece will last generations. If you feel each piece, they're all solid and heavy to boot. Also the stitching and fabrics are noticeable clean and it's apparent that there was a lot of attention to detail. The staff there are nice, friendly, and helpful. They're super knowledgeable as they probably have been there a long time. A few of them look as if they could pass for my grandparents. If you got the cash, and want to furniture that lasts through many moves, and many generations. Fedde's is your place. Otherwise check out Living Spaces or Plummers for less expensive furniture.
Great to find period accessories for the home and some well built furniture. This store is a bit smaller than usual. A good place to look for bargain when they have sale during holidays.
I can't afford anything in here but I love to browse and gawk. The people who work there understand perfectly and are always really courteous so don't feel badly about popping in.
