Overall

I would never recommend this vet. While the staff was solicitous, I was highly unimpressed with the veterinary. My cat had been suffering diarrhea for a while, but he did not have a poor appetite or lethargy. Despite the fact that I had brought a sample, she refused to test, it saying that it could not be worms. She also suggested running a multitude of tests and sent off his sample to be analyzed for obscure diseases without checking for obvious things.

Overall
VCA Dudley Ave. Animal Hospital

[[I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO THIS ANIMAL HOSPITAL!!!!!!!!]]----One night my dog had 2 seizures so we took him to VCA Dudley Avenue Animal Hospital. We were in there for no longer than 30 mins, They never tested him for anything. The doctor just looked at him and suddenly perscribed him to Phenobarbital, its what they give people for seizures as well. The doctor told us if we started giving it to him he would have to take it for the rest of his life and it would make his liver go bad and a buch of other bad effects. Since he only had them 2 and didnt have anymore we were holding off on having to give the medicine to him. Days after he had 5 in one day and we thought he was going to die so we took him to an emergency vet on 7th street. They ran a bunch of tests & he stayed over night. They said he had amonia in his lungs, They thought he might have been poisoned or he was just born with bad kidneys. They refered us to the parkersburg vet on 36th street & come to find out he was having seizures because he has bad kidneys & his kidneys werent flushing right so now hes on an I.V once a day, medication, and a special diet to help his kidneys. Hes doing very good now, much better then he was. If we would have listened to what VCA suggested i honestly truly believe they would have KILLED MY DOG! If we wouldnt have taken my dog to a more skilled and educated vet, he would have died. So i honestly wouldnt suggest anyone go there. the best place to take them would be to 36th street on North end parkersburg...
