Hands down the very best employees around!

    Provided by

Hands down the very best employees around!\r \r I called the Apple Store at Stonestown because I needed more memory for my Mac. Turns out they no longer sell it and I was told to buy it at an online site. How incredibly helpful that they don't sell the parts needed to make their machines work.\r \r I called Best Buy at Colma to see if they sell the stuff and I was told that there are tons of options, and if I don't know exactly what model machine I have (isn't Apple G5 enough?) then they can't help me.\r \r Desperate, my friend said we should go to Fry's, that they should have it. Already, I wasn't enjoying the thought of driving from San Francisco to San Jose, close to rush hour traffic. Well, it turned out they have a Palo Alto store, and that was good enough for me since I was desperate.\r \r When we first walked it, we were lost. The store was huge. Since I wasn't in the mood for a tour, I asked at the Customer Service desk and was given directions on which isle. When we got there, they had an entire wall of product. God knows which one I needed, right? Well, the only information I could supply the woman at the counter was that I needed 2 - 256 MB of RAM, something like that. I'm still blurry at how the whole thing works. Thank God I took a screen shot of what memory I had then, and she ran with it. She told me to buy 2 - 1GB. ""Don't be cheap"", she said. It's only $29.99. I was shocked since last time I paid for this, I distinctly remember paying almost $500. Well, to make a long story short, she was very helpful. Totally knew her stuff, and my computer now works much better. \r \r I was finally able to load my CS4 - yey! Thanks Fry's. It's always at Fry's!!!!!

had to pay them to return a faulty battery‎

    Provided by

Be very careful while buying anything at this store. I had to pay them $25 transaction fee in order to return a faulty laptop batter which could hold charge for only 5 minutes. On top of that they only gave me the rest of the money as store credit (though I don't feel like every going back to a Fry's store). They even suggested me that I should have brought my laptop to the store so that I could test the battery before buying it.\r \r Not a bad business model where you can make $25 for each bad product you sell. Must be better than the margin on a good product :(
