Maui Metal Detecting

I lost my cell phone at Baby Beach last week. I am so lucky that a television crew was doing a special with you the day after I lost my phone and that while teaching the host of the show how to metal detect she found my cell phone buried in the sand. As I mentioned in the interview with the host, it may only be a phone, but my phone contained over a 1000 pictures of business and personal images that I could have never replaced, not to mention all my contacts. Your business is a great service and I wish you much success in it. I had a service oriented business for years as a destination floral/ event/ travel coordinator and as a landscape designer and there is nothing more rewarding than making life's moments the best they can be and having a happy customer. We all need the good stuff and happy endings in our lives and you have provided that to me. I have limited resources at present as I am a full time student in the process of re-inventing myself after having to overcome extreme circumstances. The loss of my phone would have been a real burden, especially at the end of my semester going into finals. I would like to thank you so much for finding and returning my phone to me.

Hello. Recently in October 2013, I was swimming and playing waist deep in the ocean off of the Maui coast when, all of a sudden, I realized that my wedding ring had slipped off and sunk to the bottom of the ocean. Amidst my anxiety, I turned around to find Mac McMinn performing his standard metal detection process. My brother informed Mac of the situation and asked him to assist us. Mac obliged and spent roughly the next 30 minutes searching. Mac assured me that if I was correct about where I had lost the ring, he felt 90% confident he would find it. I thought for sure that it was lost. Sure enough, Mac found my ring about 20 feet from where I had lost it. Thanks to Mac and his willingness to help out and lend his services and expertise, my ring was recovered. I'm forever grateful for Mac and the service he performed.

I came to Maui for a short weekend visit and was having the time of my life, hanging in the jungle, playing music, meeting beautiful people, and finally on my last night we were having a dance party on the beach. I awoke the next morning, the day of my flight, to realize that my ID, credit cards, cash, and insurance cards had all gone missing. I spent all morning walking the beach looking in the sand and asking people if anyone had found it. Finally a lifeguard informed me that Mac had found my bundle of belongings while going on his morning search. I contacted him immediately and had ALL of my belongings, every single dollar, returned to me. Mac was the saving grace to my Maui excursion, much Aloha, and I was able to sadly catch my flight off island. Thank you Mac!

Thanks Mac. I’m a 19-year old from Australia, and I lost my GoPro in the ocean. While swimming on the beach outside our hotel in Wailea, a freak wave crashed snapped the wrist strap of my camera. My brother and I searched in the water for an hour or so, hoping it had settled in the shallows, but we were unsuccessful. The next morning at sunrise, my dad spent several hours searching a large area with a snorkel and flippers, also to no avail. However, a few days later we received an email from Mac McMinn saying that he’d found a GoPro and had contacted our hotel to reach us. Within a few hours, he had posted it back to Australia and it is in perfect condition, despite being buried under the sand for several days! While vacationing on Maui I lost my wedding ring of twenty-seven years, while swimming in the ocean. The ring was not extravagant but I had worn the ring for twenty-seven years and it meant the world to me. I had lost the ring in water well over my head and just assumed the ring was gone which was simply heart breaking to me. I was referred to Mac with Maui Metal Detecting and Mac agreed to come out and meet with my husband and I to discuss attempting to find my ring. After explaining to Mac the area that I had lost the ring he asked us to wait and within a few minutes he reappeared on the beach in scuba gear and carrying a metal detector. As Mr. McMinn walked off into the water I thought to myself, what are the chances of him finding the ring. Within about twenty minutes Mr. McMinn surfaced, walked ashore and with a smile, handed me my ring back. Mac, thank you so much for finding my ring.

While vacationing on Maui I lost my $23,000 platinum engagement and wedding ring at Baby Beach in Sprecklesville. I was lying on a towel and took my rings off to put sun screen on my children and I and simply forgot to put my rings back on. Most embarrassing is when we left for the day I forgot about my rings on the towel and when I picked up my towel the rings obviously went flying. To compound matters I did not notice my rings missing off my fingers until I woke up in our hotel room at 5:30am the next morning.

My husband and I returned to the beach and searched for several hours without any luck. I man that locates rings for people was referred to us and he came out to the beach with a metal detector but he was unable to find my rings. At some point my husband saw Mac with Maui Metal Detecting getting out of his truck and John asked Mac if he would please try and find my rings. Mac agreed and within about thirty minutes Mac had found both of my rings.
