The parent company is comprised of two wholly owned subsidiaries: Hunt Midwest Real Estate Development and Hunt Midwest Mining. Hunt Midwest Real Estate Development, developer of nearly 5,000 acres of commercial, retail, industrial and residential property, and owner/developer of SubTropics, the world s largest underground business complex; and Hunt Midwest Mining, 50-percent owner of the region s largest supplier of crushed limestone, Hunt Martin Materials. SubTropolis features nearly seven miles of lighted and paved roads, more than two miles of railroad track, nearly 400 truck dock locations serviced my more than 300 truck lines, 16-foot ceilings, in excess of 50 tenants and 1,300 employees. In addition to its SubTropolis development, the company also owns and operates the Hunt Business Center development and a number of residential developments.
