My husband and I recently visited Sam Snead's Tavern in Maitland, Fl. It was our first time, even though we are locals. We decided to sit near the bar because my husband wanted to watch the Magic playoff game. The atmosphere was just our style, because even though there were plenty of Magic fans and the game was on every TV, it never seemed like a sports bar. I had heard the food was great, hoewever I was worried about the service in the bar area. To my delight it was not only great food, but excellent service as well. Our waitresses name was Darcy. She seemed to be very busy, however she managed to make us feel like we were not rushed at all and walked us through our choices. She also answered all of our questions with patience considering we had a lot as it was our first time. I would definately go again and recommend it to all of my friends. The Beacham downtown is the new great place for concerts. The new sound stage is amazing! There are ample amount of bars to get drinks from, so no long lines, and four of which you never have to leave sight of the stage. The staff is friendly and prompt. In fact, I even witnessed a guy being rude to one of the female bartenders, but she took the high road and was cordial to the guy despite his rudeness. Though the venue was packed that night, there was still plenty of room to walk around. There's nothing worse than being in a club where you can't move without feeling like you're being accosted by someone or being pickpocketed. Definitely a club worth checking out, I will certainly be putting The Beacham in my rotation downtown. From the looks of their website, they're bringing in some great bands, too so I know me and my friends will be venturing their again many times.
This place is great, everyone was friendly, warm it just feels like going home to Moms. I went for lunch on a Saturday from the moment I walked in I knew this was a place I'd like to spend time at. As soon as you open the door you are greeted with a smile and a warm "hello, please grab a seat and I'll be right over with a menu". My server was professional yet I felt like I had made a new friend, she suggested an ice cold Amber Bock and homemade fried green tomatoes-- yummmmmmmmm. I was with 2 friends, we ordered the special of the day Taco Salad, Mini Burgers and a Steak and Gorgonzola Salad everyone had a wonderful lunch. The homemade ranch dressing was to die for. We were told by our server Erica that the Triple Layer Chocolate Cake was the best ever, she was right I have never had a more decadent delicious chocolate treat. We will be back!!!
