We visited Universal and spent the day standing in long lines. It is obvious that Universal has cut staff to save money. I have a problem with that when it becomes obvious that you can never justify spending their admission price for how you will be limited in what you can do and see. Then they have the audacity to suggest that you might want to pay an additional fee for an "Express Pass" to get into attractions somewhat faster. Well, whether you have the regular admi...view moression pass or the express wouldn't make a lot of difference when many of the rides were experiencing technical difficulties. We stood in one line for 45 minutes only to be told the ride was down. It would be understandable if it didn't happen repeatedly at different rides. We even stood in long lines to buy water and another for ice cream. The dolts that manage that place will probably read this and think the solution is to market an express pass for the water and ice cream lines.
Do yourself a favor spend your time and money elsewhere.view less
I've been to Universal Orlando twice with my family. Once when I was 9, the other time when I was 11. We're returning this summer after six long years, and I am stoked.
Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure is the most fun, exciting, and enjoyable place I've ever been to. The detail they've put into every aspect, the awesome rides, and the extremely cool, night-life ambiance of CityWalk make Universal Orlando one hot vacation spot for people of all ages. So for your next family vacation, definitely consider Universal Orlando. You won't be the least bit sorry!view less
I LOVE this place! I love the original park with the Men in Black ride, the Mummy rollercoaster, the Jurassic Park water ride, and all of the others! I also love Islands of Adventure park with the Marvel comics rides, even though I'm not into comic book characters at all. I finally went on Doctor Doom's Fearfall and LOVED it! It scares me to death, but I love it! I even get kinda sick on rollercoasters, so I don't do on The Hulk (people who are kinda big around can't fit on that ride, ...view moretoo, which I don't like because I could go on all of the other rides). This place is kinda good for the most part. They are kinda expensive but thats not surprising seeing how its at Citywalk. I do however believe that Universal security staff is rude and overly controlling. Make sure if you are under 21 dont try going there after 8pm otherwise they make you wait in a kiddie area in the parking garage to get escorted to the movies. yes I am 20 years old, a leagal adult, can smoke, drive, and die for my country but cant go see a movie without getting ""esc...view moreorted"" by a $7 an hour security guard. Ok, as a visitor every few years, one of my favorite destinations is Orlando's Citywalk. Typically this kind of place ain't my thing, but for some reason, I enjoy the grand open space of the Citywalk for dining and people watching. I personally skip the stores as they all seem aimed at cheese or else are way overpriced for merchandise you can get elsewhere. But grab a latte and park yourself down in the sun and it's perfect for soaking in that most interesting of animals, humans. Hard Rock Cafe across the lagoon won't steer you wrong either for a hearty American meal. Only downsides are the parking and the fact that this place is in the middle of bonking nowhere.view lessProvided by Citysearch
I live near Tampa, but wouldn't go to Busch Gardens if someone gave me a free ticket. I'd pass up any other park to be able to go to Universal Studios in Orlando, FL! I LOVE that place! THIRSTY? After attending the 7th Annual Orlando Beer Festival, I am definitely still thirsty. This is due to the fact that there were twice as many people in attendance and half as many vendors providing beer samples.
The lines were ridiculously long, the venders were few and far between, and you had to buy a beer while waiting in a line to sample the beer provided by the festival. It took 45 minutes in a line to get 2 oz. of beer! I complained to guest services and told that all s...view moreales are final. My final sale was a $33 plastic cup and 4 oz. of beer.
It was AWFUL! I will never attend the Orlando Beer Festival again. Obviously, the people responsible are not interested in satisfying their customers.view less
The rollercoasters & 3D rides are so thrilling that words cannot describe how awesome they are. So much to look at and do for the whole family. Staying at the beautiful on site hotel gives you front of the line for all the rides and walking distance to the parks and City Walk.Provided by Citysearch
