Sand Lake Animal Clinic

I can't say enough positive things about the veterinarians and staff at Sand Lake Animal Clinic! I have been a client for nearly 20 years (and 5 dogs). Today was a reminder that I sometimes take for granted how much they care. My older Frenchie has a congenital spinal deformity causing progressively weak hind legs. Dr. Rodrigo Rivera has been following her for quite a while, and let me know there was a "doggie wheelchair" in the back that she could try when the time came. Today, he spent nearly an hour fitting her and making adjustments until it fit just right. Drs. Spurgeon, Nash, and Rivera, along with many of the techs and office staff, witnessed her maiden voyage and seemed almost as happy as I was when she ran down the hall!

Turnover in staff has left them with some inexperienced vets. There is a boarding area attached and run by the facility. We have had a couple of problems at both. For the price you can find cheaper not far away. I do not trust this staff as I did the previous doctors that were the best. Now we have had three misdiagnoses and one was very serious. Not happy with them any longer. Personalities are friendly as most are. Good luck.

I called and was able to get an appointment within 30 minutes. They were friendly, professional and took their time helping my cat and comforting me. I would absolutely go back again, the prices were fair and I was in and out very quickly with the medications I needed to make my cat fell better.

In a response; to the very negative review, I read concerning a dog not being treated. Sand Lake Animal Clinic is closed each and every Sunday; The woman spoke to a Kennel, dog walker.. If I were to encounter an emergency, with my pet, on a Sunday. Being a Dr. yourself; I would have went straight to the Veterinary Emergency Clinic; located in Orlando. This seems to be a poor judgement on the owners part.

This place is horrible. My dog was having a seizure on a Sunday. He is 1 and only 4 pounds. I ran out of the house without my phone in a panic. I went this vet were we had been before. The vet tech was outside walking a boarded dog. I explained to him the situation. He stated that the female vet was inside and he would see if she would see my dog. While he was checking - I looked at my limp dog's gums and they were grey. He came back out and told me the vet refused to see my dog since it was Sunday. In shock, i pleaded with him to please give me sugar or anything would help bring my dog back. He stated they did not have anything. I work in the medical field and find it appalling that a doctor would refuse care of a patient in urgent need of medical atttention. This vet's license should be taken away.

Definitely beyond our expectations! We took our lab in for an insect bite on his paw. They took him in with very little notice. The tech came out and got acquainted with Kato before he went back to the exam room. It really settled him down. The vet was very responsive to questions and truly enjoy working with animals. This was the best experience we've had in 45 years of dog ownership. We would recommend them to anyone.
