Nona Sushi

My husband and I went to Nona Sushi for dinner and the food was just okay. Service was decent, however, not the best. We decided to order take out sushi one rainy evening, October 3rd, to be exact. I called in our order and was told it would be ready in 20-30 minutes. When I arrived to pick up my food, I was completely ignored by the staff. I stood at the doorway for 15-20 minutes without any acknowledgement from anyone. I could see my order sitting at the sushi bar; however, nobody would take the time to retrieve it for me. There were two male waiters working and they both looked straight at me and made eye contact, however, they just turned away. One of the waiters was the one that waited on my husband and me for dinner a week before. I guess I was not important since a tip was not involved in my takeout order. There were also two sushi chefs working and neither of them would acknowledge me either. You would think someone would have said somebody will be right with you rather than leave me standing there. I came so close to just walking out and leave my order there. I finally decided to ask the sushi chef. I told him that was probably my order sitting on the counter. All he did was nod his head, however, he did nothing. At last, a male employee emerged from the back of the restaurant and acknowledged me, and retrieved my order. To make matters worse he put my hot miso soup on top of my container of sushi. There is nothing worse than hot sushi. This is the worse customer service I have ever received at any Japanese restaurant. Needless to say, we will not be returning. There are two new Japanese restaurants in the area and one is located right on Narcoossee Rd near CVS called Haru Sushi, and will be opening sometime in the near future. The other is Shogun located on Hoffner Rd. They just had their grand opening. I can’t wait to try them both. I’m sure they will both be better.

My family and I dine in Nona Sushi on a regular basis (usually at least twice a week). The food, service, ambiance is top notch. Sushi is best quality no matter when or what time you go. The place is small, beautiful, clean and the people are extremely customer service oriented. If my schedule permitted, I would go every day:-) Food for everyone, including non-sushi eaters. You will find many favorite dishes.

Well, It's about time you need not drive 20 miles to find a decent place to eat sushi if you live in the Lake Nona / Narcoossee area. I have dined at Nona Sushi at least 15 times and I have been impressed every time.

The sushi is always great, but there is something for everyone even if you do not like sushi.

The calamari is one of the best I have had and the customer service is awesome.

Nice atmosphere and great food! Prices are not bad either. Highly recommend a visit to Nona Sushi.

This place is a hidden gem! Family owned. Great service, atmosphere and fabulous food! A Must Try!

Now with so many so called " sushi bars " opening in the area one has a lot of choices, but a great choice would be Nona Sushi. Not only is the decor inviting but the staff is absolutely wonderful. The volcano roll is a MUST.

So make it a point to go to Nona Sushi for a great experience.

This place is very cute and comfortable inside. The service is good and the food is great. Great menu with a great selection. Everything could be a little better but considering the place only opened 3 days ago and everybody is new, everything was excellent!! I'm sure everything will tighten up as time goes on.
