Personally, I was VERY surprised by Best Western Movie land. When we arrived, the lobby was looking pretty empty as we arrived around dinner when everyone else was out. It is for this reason, most likely, that the lady that everyone complains about selling Universal tickets did not hassle us. Anyways, the reception was VERY kind in not only aiding us through the check-in process, but also to help us find our room, the pool, and other amenities. I like it so much. Thanks.

Personally, I was VERY surprised by Best Western Movieland. She also walked out from behind the desk to show us outside which way to drive to get to Disney World, etc. Very helpful front desk service. Once we got the keys, we used the elevator (which was for some reason, not very crowded though the hotel can accommodate quite many people) to get to our room. Our room was right by the elevator. Convenient, yet surprisingly sound-proof from the bustling outside the room. The bathrooms aren't 'I would eat something off of the floor' clean, but they are much cleaner than places that I've stayed in. Often, there would be a cart outside the room that the maids would leave out for guests to get toothbrushes, shampoo, extra pillows/towels, etc. Very helpful! As for the room, large TV, contemporary furniture, and even a PERSONAL computer with internet that was remarkably fast. I was able to check up on my email and even renew a book that I had forgot to the return prior to my vacation. Looked up the map to get to the parks around the area (though they're so close it really wasn't necessary), and checked the weather for the week. Very helpful service and unique to this location. Beds were very clean. Very comfortable, too. Pool was also VERY clean. Probably newly renovated. Nothing 'gunky' or 'icky' you usually find with hotel pools. This one was SUPER SUPER SUPER clean. I would recommend it to ANYONE. No hot tub though, but it's really not necessary. After a long day out walking at the parks and whatnot, I'd actually recommends coming to the pool instead of heading straight to bed. I found myself more relaxed wading around the pool. It's just that amazing! For those who want to shed a few pounds, there's an exercise room hat's equally as enchanting. Gift shop in the hotel as well. DIdn't check it out, but you could always purchase some stuff, though I don't see why as there are at least 5 gift shops within a 3 minute walk from the hotel. Location of the hotel could not be any better. I won't elaborate on this, as you can see for yourself on the hotel map. IMPORTANT NOTE: The only downside of the hotel is that it has NO complimentary breakfast. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel (some steakhouse type thing) which I did not go. There was a discount offered to hotel guests, but I never had the appetite or the time to eat in the morning before I went to the parks nearby. Smelled good though. I heard other hotel guests complaining that tips were already included the bill. Just a warning, but I can't confirm it for you. If you're looking for a quick breakfast bite to eat, there a ponderosa across the street. Also, I found 3 places that served good food for those on a budget. Right next to the steakhouse (as you walk towards the entrance to the Wet n' Wild) there a Hong Kong BBQ. Their lo mien and fried rice is packed with goodies like shrimp, bbq pork, and whatnot. Definately worth a try. Tasted awesome. If you work your way farther down the street by about 2 minutes, you'll see a larger chinese restaurant near the 'anti-gravity sky-diving tower'. Also pretty good. Tip is included in the bill as well. Everything on the menu was enticing. I'd defiantely go there again.

Best Hotel on the strip My family and I stayed at this hotel for the second time in 2 years last may. I love the location and the price. The staff was always friendly and I never felt unsafe. My 7 year old and I would often walk the strip after dark and enjoy the sights. I also loved having so many restaurants to choose from. I have stayed at the contemporary, the Dixie landings and another best western on hotel plaza blvd. This one is the better of any due to the price and location. You could walk to universal if you don't mind the distance after being at the park all day. We will definitely stay here again.

I must admit that I was sceptical about this property from the number of bad reviews,I stayed at the Movieland for the first time during april and I have to say that I was very pleased. The room was very clean and well presented and the maid service was always very good,as for the movieland its self, the property is very modern, well kept/maintained and staff are polite/helpfull. The only downside (If you can call it that!),was The Black Angus bar/restaurant,not that there was anything wrong - but like other people have seid it is on the pricey side,if you want breakfast/dinner then try Ponderosas and for a beer try Bennigans both of which are a short walk up the road. As I am a single traveller,I usualy find that hotels are expensive,I booked on-line and saved a fortune both accommodation and return flights,so if you are a single traveller - I suggest you do the same!.

I had a great stay at the Best Western Movieland. It was very good price. It is a great location on International Dr. They have free bus to go to Universal, which was very convenient, and also to Sea World. The staff at the front desk were very helpful, always smiling and cheerful. Also the housekeepers were very nice, always greeted us when they passed by. The hotel room was nice and clean and very spacious, the pool is very clean and big. Overall had a wonderful stay. Would definately go back and recommend to my friends and family.?
