They specialize in Peking Duck whereas other places usually serve an awful bastardized version. And if other restaurants do serve the authentic Peking duck (which takes a lot of advance prep), then you would have to order a day ahead, but Lam's serves enough of it to have it ready to order. I also got the Chinese broccoli in garlic sauce which was also great. I can't wait to get this again and I'd like to try their lobster in ginger sauce. I'm so happy to find one of the last remaining...view more authentic Chinese restaurantsview lessShare Review

Had dinner at Lam s Garden 4 months ago couldn t wait to get back took my
granddaughter for lunch today absolutely the worst food I have ever eaten Disgusting
presentation small plate with mounds of awful sloppy tasteless food terrible
Absolutely disgusted. Everything started off alright. Food was decent enough.
I asked a server for some sweet soy sauce, but the server completely forgot. Which was fine, it happens.
Then I noticed a server drop her tongs on the floor, pick it back up, and served the food with the same tongs. I did not want to eat anymore dim sum after that. But that was not even the worst of it.
My friend found herself biting into a piece of unknown torn hard plastic inside her sesame ball. ...view moreThe plastic was cooked right inside the shell of the dough. (Uploaded a picture of the sesame ball to the gallery)
When she informed the manager, he looked at her as though she was crazy and gave an insincere ""I'm sorry."" After he inspected the sesame ball, he removed the item from our bill. When she told him she was not satisfied, he left, yelled at the workers, and never came back. From there, a couple of the servers gave us the dirty looks. When we went to the other manager to complain about the service/food, she gave us attitude. It was only after my friend told her she was a food critic that the lady became polite. The manager asked who the server was that dropped the tongs. When we told her, she said she wasn't surprised it was that server. We ended up only having to pay for half of the bill.
The experience was just awful. I don't know about you, but I'd rather not munch on unknown garbage and eat food off the floor.view less
Authentic Chinese cuisine, that is outstanding and well executed, in addition to the best darn Dim Sum in metro-Orlando. These guy are real pros. Here's the secret, if you aren't Asian, you'll be handed the Americanized green menu. Politely request the red menu and let the knowing smirks and fun begin. Unless you're a food sissy, then stay with the green menu, ya big baby. Remember, if you want the ""Real Thing"" and you want it dang good, this IS the place. Enough said.Provided by Citysearch
I went to Dim Sum with my sister and girlfriends, not really expecting much since we have yet to find truly authentic Chinese Cuisene. The restaurant was busy and we were seated right away. Our drink order was taken promptly and shortly threre after the carts started coming around. The food was truly authentic and hot upon arrival. Must try the shau mai ! We have committed to going back at minimum every Sunday.Provided by Citysearch
I tried this place many years ago and did not like it. Then I just was reintroduced just a couple weeks ago, and I believe they changed everything to make it better! Now I come here every weekend for the BEST dim sum in ORLANDO.. hands down.. and I am Chinese too, so I know!Provided by Citysearch
We moved to Orlando 11yrs ago. Lams was the first and last chinese restaurant we tried. The service is always fast and very good. They serve us our "American chinese" and there is always chinese familys there eating Authentic chinese. Definitely worth trying!!Share Review
