My husband & I tried this place while visiting Orlando. They did warn us of the wait, which we chose to spend at the bar. The drinks were good and they have a very nice bar area...be prepared to wait around an hour if you don't have reservations. It helps to show earlier if you don't have reservations. We were pleased with the service of the staff- they checked on us frequently both when we were waiting to be seated and during our meal. This was my first experience dining at a restaurant like this and I can see how the servers may be overwhelming for some people; however, I enjoyed it. The quality of the food was amazing and I would go back (but will make reservations).
If you've ever had authentic Cajun (Creole) food you will be disappointed! Our appetizer was Fried Green Tomatoes, I had never in my life had the breading made from corn meal, I'm from the South and have had them all my life. Entrees where Shrimp Jumbalia & Crawfish Étouffée. While both were real spicy the Jumbalia tasted as if the sauce was burnt or they put file' in it. The Étouffée was the same way just very disappointing. After telling the manager he adjusted our bill and wanted us to give him another try. I don't know if that will happen because I'm quite fond of Cajun Cuisine. They got 3 stars for the service they did try really hard but the food just wasn't there.
I travel quite often around Florida and dine in many establishments but I have to strongly say that Cricketers Arms Pub and Eatery is the best English Pub in Florida. It is a very relaxing atmosphere where I have enjoyed many afternoons sitting watching English football and enjoying some of the best beers that are hand drawn and from England. The food is always made fresh and I can honestly say is very good. I have never not enjoyed my meal at Cricketers Arms. I would recommend this establishment to anyone and everyone. If you are looking for great food, great beer and an awesome relaxed atmosphere then Cricketers Arms Pub and Eatery is your place to be.
