The legendary Bojangles that has served the American South for so many years has finally made its way to Central Florida! For those who don't know, Bojangles is a chicken and biscuits place that started in the Carolinas in 1977 and has expanded to Southern states that would appreciate a fast version of down home cooking. The competition of KFC and Popeye’s have no chance in a taste test against Bojangles. Not to mention how superior Bojangles service is compared to the two. he taste of the chicken makes you feel like you're in the South. The biscuits are phenomenal. They make all their biscuits from scratch. They have full time biscuit makers that only make hot biscuits all day long. They also serve breakfast biscuit sandwiches all day as well. So breakfast is served any time of the day. Not bad at all :) I went there for opening day because I used to eat this a lot when I lived in Georgia and would travel to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on vacation. When I arrived it was packed. It seems like I wasn't the only one excited about the coming of Bojangles. They had excellent service for their grand opening having two employees on the floor picking up people's trays for them. I highly recommend the Cajun chicken club sandwich. Fried Cajun chicken, American cheese, bacon, tomatoes, lettuce, and mayo makes a great sandwich. All of their sides are awesome. The dirty rice, the Mac and cheese, the mashed potatoes, the BO ROUNDS. . If you want a quick snack, I highly recommend the biscuits like the southern style chicken biscuit. They serve breakfast all day every day. One of the best things there is the dessert. The sweet potato pie is out of this world. I literally think it's the best fast food dessert out there. It's compact, hand held, tasty, and hot. You really have to try it because no description will do it justice. Oh yeah they have these amazing cinnamon and Bo Berry biscuits that are so so delicious. I'm very happy that they came to an area of Orlando that would really appreciate it. All McDonalds and Chick Fil A's in the Orlando area really have their hands full now!!! If you don't believe me Go to Bojangles and taste the difference!!
We do not have authentic paella in Hawai'i so this was a must try! We found this hidden gem through the groupon site and drove 20 minutes for early dinner. and we're glad we did! We walk up to this quaint little restaurant and were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress (Nicole) had great customer service and was friendly with us. She was more than obliged to share the story of the family-owned restaurant. Exactly the kinds of places we like to eat- where people treat you like family and friends :-) We ordered the mixta paella, sangria pitcher, ham croquet, calamari, flan, and tres leche cake. The ham croquet and calamari were excellent (how do you screw up calamari?)! Both were crunchy and hot and the sauce for both complemented the dishes quite well. The mixta paella was OH EM GEEEEEE good! My wife has been to Spain and verified it's authenticity. Lol. The paella was moist, flavorful, hearty and more than we expected! (It was so good I purchased another grouping on the spot to order another to take home!! The sangria was made the way we like it- homemade, cherries, not so strong wine. Deliciously compliments the paella. Then....dessert. The tres leche cake was moist and firm but the flan (oh, the flan!) the best flan I have EVER had!! Firm and rich with none of that caramel water soup stuff! All in all, we spent waaaay more then we would have but it was worth every cent!!! The flavors alone will twist your arm to eat more than you thought you could!!! Mahalo e Paella House :-)
This place is great, everyone was friendly, warm it just feels like going home to Moms. I went for lunch on a Saturday from the moment I walked in I knew this was a place I'd like to spend time at. As soon as you open the door you are greeted with a smile and a warm "hello, please grab a seat and I'll be right over with a menu". My server was professional yet I felt like I had made a new friend, she suggested an ice cold Amber Bock and homemade fried green tomatoes-- yummmmmmmmm. I was with 2 friends, we ordered the special of the day Taco Salad, Mini Burgers and a Steak and Gorgonzola Salad everyone had a wonderful lunch. The homemade ranch dressing was to die for. We were told by our server Erica that the Triple Layer Chocolate Cake was the best ever, she was right I have never had a more decadent delicious chocolate treat. We will be back!!!
