Oral Cancer Screening
It begins with a warm greeting, a tour of the office and a visit to the library for a review of your health history. At chairside, we will provide a complete evaluation including clinical charting, a thorough periodontal evaluation, a TMJ exam, an oral cancer screening, a radiographic evaluation and a caries assessment. Our goal is to help you make an informed decision for your care based on knowledge, understanding and fees.

Teeth Cleaning
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride applications help to strengthen the enamel making it more difficult for cavities to begin. Rampant decay for children and root caries for adults can be stopped by using fluoride gels or varnishes. It is a great preventive tool. Fluoride also helps with painful sensitive teeth. We offer in-office topical applications and prescription toothpastes that contain 4 times the amount of fluoride in OTC toothpastes.
Dental Sealants
Sealants are a thin plastic coating bonded into the grooves and pits of back teeth. This prevents food and bacteria accumulating in the grooves and causing decay. Sealants are ideal for children. Adults can benefit from the protection as well.

Fillings
Amalgam is a silver colored alloy made up of mercury, silver, tin and copper. Because of the poor esthetics they are used only for the back teeth. These restorations are known for their strength and durability.
Veneers
Porcelain veneers are very thin, semi-translucent facings bonded to the front of teeth. Veneers are durable, stain resistant and natural looking. They can be used to transform your smile and also improve the function of your teeth. They offer a conservative way to provide you with a beautiful healthy smile you have always wanted.
Crowns
Several types of crowns are available such as gold, porcelain fused to metal, and all ceramic crowns. Each has their own set of strengths and limitations and Dr. Brian can discuss which crown he thinks will work best for you.
Bridges
A fixed bridge is used to replace missing teeth. These restorations bridge the gap by crowning teeth on either side of the space. Bridges help maintain a normal bite, prevent stress on the dental arches, and prevent drifting of adjacent teeth.
Dental Bonding

Root Canal Treatment
If a tooth has a cavity it is important to remove the decay before it gets bigger. Decay can rapidly spread throughout tooth structure. If decay is left untreated, the tooth can fracture and become sensitive, painful or abscessed. The more tooth structure that is damaged, the more treatment required, such as a root canal. If the decay is extensive enough, the tooth could be beyond fixing and need to be taken out. Removing the decay early and restoring with a filling or crown can help prevent further problems and treatment.

Deep Cleaning

Dentures
A complete denture is an affordable way to replace all teeth in a dental arch. It consists of denture teeth embedded in pink acrylic that mimics the soft tissue. Dentures can look natural and can give you a beautiful smile again. However, there are several problems that can come with dentures and it is important to know what to expect when getting them.
Overdentures
Sometimes dental disease can get to a point that is unmanageable and the decision is made to remove all remaining teeth in one or both jaws. When all teeth are missing, replacement options include dentures, overdentures and fixed hybrid dentures.

Dental implants have the best long term prognosis for tooth replacement. They look, feel, and function just like natural teeth. The implant itself is a titanium post that is placed below tissue into bone where a tooth used to be. It integrates with the bone and becomes a highly predictable way to replace teeth. Implants are extremely versatile. They can be used to replace one, several, or all of your teeth.

Orthodontics
We need to bring harmony and proper alignment back to the joints, muscles, and teeth. There are several ways to create a healthy occlusion, depending on the extent of damage that has been done. Orthodontics can move teeth to where they need to be. Sometimes restorative work is needed to repair damaged teeth, replace missing teeth and get the system working as a cohesive unit again. Occlusal appliances are another great tool to help relax tight painful muscles and seat the joints in the proper position. Equilibration can be done to help create ideal contact of teeth by adjusting or recontouring them to get a balanced occlusion again.
Invisalign Orthodontics
Veneers do best under certain situations and are not for every tooth. Veneers stay in place by bonding to the outer layer of tooth structure called enamel. Bonding to enamel is predictable. Teeth with a lot of damage (heavy wear, large fracture, extensive decay or previous restoration) would require bonding to dentin, which is not predictable. A crown would be a better option in certain situations. Teeth that have larger gaps or are heavily rotated or malaligned may not do well with veneers. Braces or Invisalign is often the better solution. Since veneers are bonded to the front side of the tooth only, it is possible they can come off or fracture when heavy forces are placed on them.

After dental school, Dr. Brian joined the United States Air Force Dental Corps. In 2008 he graduated from the Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Travis AFB and became a staff dentist at Keesler AFB for two years treating the base’s medical group. For his hard work and his role in implementing Team Dentistry at Keesler, Brian was awarded The Air Force Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service. To quote Brigadier General Kornum, “The distinctive accomplishments of Captain Haeussner while serving his country reflect credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.”
