Breast milk is made from nutrients in the mother's bloodstream and bodily stores. Breastfeeding uses an average of 500 calories a day and can help with maternal weight loss after giving birth. That being said, formula-feeding is a very valid, healthy choice for babies as well. Formula feeding can begin at birth or after a period of nursing. The best way to choose the right formula to use is to contact your Pediatrician for advice.

Labor and Delivery
Labor is induced to cause a pregnant woman’s cervix to thin out and open to prepare for the vaginal birth of her baby. Labor may be induced if the health of the woman or the baby is at risk. Whether your labor will be induced depends on the condition of you and your baby, how far along the pregnancy is, the status of your cervix, and other factors. Unless a problem occurs, labor induction is not generally done before 41-42 weeks of pregnancy. Under special circumstances, an induction may be performed as early at 39 weeks. Ultrasound
An ultrasound, also called a sonogram, is an imaging test that is used to create pictures of internal organs and structures. An obstetric ultrasound is used to monitor a pregnancy. The majority of women will only have one or two ultrasounds in their pregnancy. Additional scans are only performed for specific indications. A transvaginal ultrasound uses a transmitting device that is placed in the vagina to provide more detailed images and is typically used early in your pregnancy.
