Our prescription tree care method of meeting the plants needs are best determined by a soil and/or a leaf analysis. Importantly, elements and amendments needlessly or improperly applied may negatively impact the environment or have an adverse affect on your trees and shrubs.

Arborist Services
Supplemental support systems are used to reduce the high risk of failure to weak points of aÂ treeÂ and can extend the life of aÂ treeÂ when advisable. The placement of these systems requires a high level of expertise; improper installations can actually increase the potential for breakage. Installing these structural supports should be based on the recommendations of a Certified Arborist, once installed follow-up inspections should be done annually or more often if needed depending on each situation and conditions such as ice build-up or excessive winds. Guying or staking is usually for establishment of newly plantedÂ treesÂ or straightening ofÂ treesÂ that have been partially tilted possibly by a recent storm that willÂ requireÂ additional support to keep them upright. Unfortunately, routinely in the case of the latter there may be an underlying defect of the root zone usually near the trunk that it will be to impractical to save the tiltedÂ tree.
Tree Mulching
When performed correctly mulching is one of the most effective practices to maintain plant health, (Please, No Volcano Mulching).Â Trees that are properly mulched are more vigorous and have higher rates of survival, than those covered with turf grass. Mulching beneath yourÂ treesand shrubs will help retain soil moisture, moderate temperature extremes, add organic matter back into the soil, reduce soil compaction and erosion. A mulched area will have fewer weeds and can also beautify your landscape by covering areas of bare dirt, or unsightly surface roots! Ideally a good mulch bed should extend out at least 3 feet in all directions from the trunk of newer plantings and as far out as practical or preferably closer out to the edge of where the branches ofÂ treesÂ crown extend, as they become larger.
