Martial Arts Internationalpyw4343 rated

After reading ome negative review out on the web, i felt compelled to jump to not only Martial Art International' defen e, but al o all it tudent , in tructor and al o my own. I have been with MAI for four year now and have not once regretted my deci ion. It tarted ...moreout a a way for me to become more active and it ha turned into a life tyle and a way of life for me. Being a hu band, father of 5 kid and a bu ine owner all at 38 year old, I figured there wa nothing left to learn in thi life of mine. Boy wa I wrong!! Wanting to learn more martial art , I tarted attending MAI. A my training progre ed, I tarted realizing that not only wa I learning techique that were making me better phy ically, but mo t importantly, I wa learning to be a better per on!! To me, the latter i much more important to ociety today than how hard and high i can kick, jump or punch. I have devoleped great relation hip with my fellow tudent , my in tructor and even parent and pou e of tudent . My attitude and outlook on life and my abilitie to juggle daily re pon iblitie have greatly improved becau e of the character development MAI tre e !! The added bonu of thi i that Ive al o become a decent martial arti t. In any bu ine , the owner will deal with unhappy cu tomer , it a given fact. I al o deal with my fair hare a a bu ine owner. We are out to upport our familie and to live a life we de erve. I find ome of the complaint about the co t at MAI completely unfair!! Ye , the ma ter i al o a bu ine owner out to upport hi family and hi life, but he love what he doe and truly care about all hi tudent and parent and all involved with MAI. Without going into detail, I have been witne to the ma ter inviting back tudent who have lo t the will or vi ion of the "dream" without worrying about hi own monetary gain, ju t o the e tudent can continue their journey to becoming a blackbelt! The e torie ure do not paint a picture of omeone who only care about money now doe it?!?! I ju t recently recieved my blackbelt through MAI, and the en e of accompli hment wa overwhelming, and I am more than honored to be one of Ma ter Melegrito' Blackbelt ! The chool ha a rock olid curricumlum in place, and the intructor are top notch! Both the bellevue location and the we t omaha location have the very be t in tructor on taff and they are there everyday pa ing on the martial art tradition and kill to all the tudent . The e in trutor demand perfection out of each and every one of u but yet do it in a manner that how their true care for u tudent and they make it fun!! That i a true trait of a real in tructor! A for comment about other chool blackbelt being able to "kick the hell" out of our blackbelt ?? What a childi h comment, and if it were not for the re pect and attitude our chool in till into u , I would per onally accept that challenge! The true e ence of martial art i in tilled in peace, re pect, attitude and dedication. The e are the kill that can carry omeone through a ucce ful life. And the e are the trait that Martial Art International live by! OUr in tructor and ma ter have told u time and time again....you have to be worthy of wearing that blackbelt not only in your martial art kill , more importantly in how you carry your elf and a per on......anyone out there think they have the phy ical, mental and emotional kill to be one of our Blackbelt ? Anyone out there want their be t to be brought out? Then come give u a try and ee for your elf what MAI i really about....."The be t blackbelt are tho e who know how to walk away from a fight...." view less

I have been with Martial Art International for over 10 year . Martial Art ha become more than ju t a hobby to me, it ha become a way of life. The people at MAI, tudent and taff, have become family to me. They really care about making you feel like a part of their way ...moreof life. I have heard o many torie from tudent about how MAI ha helped them in their live , or helped them through financial hiccup . In today' ociety, people like to put o much thought into the 'co t' of martial art , u ing the term "mcdojo." I have actually re earched how much other activitie (football, dance, hockey, etc.) would co t to get a child involved in. It' not uncommon to pend $3000-$5000 a year on omething like hockey when you include enrollment fee , training gear, tournament fee , travel expen e , etc. The financial inve tment at Martial Art International i a lot more affordable and 100 time more beneficial. I would much rather have my children learn how to defend them elve again t a bully or an attacker than learn how to knock around a puck. I think ometime people forget that thi i al o a bu ine , a well a an art. They do have to pay the bill , rent, and the in tructor , which doe mean that money ha to come in. That' ju t the truth of the matter. People tend to focu on mall a pect , like having to buy equipment through the chool or adju ting a belt y tem, in tead of focu ing on the long term benefit of learning elf-di cipline, re pect, confidence, and elf-defen e. I have heard numerou ucce torie from parent about how their child wa getting bullied, even beat up at chool, and they were to able to defend and get away from their attacker due to what they learned at MAI! That i pricele . You cannot put a price on a child' life. It i totally worth the inve tment. You won't regret it! view less

It take more then a martial art chool to be a family, but martial art international i more then a martial art chool. I began my journey in Martial Art a a fre hman in high chool but I wa one of the many people who tart and never make it all the way to black belt...more. That wa until I came to Martial Art International. Before thi chool I wa not omeone who fini hed anything. Not only did I get my black belt but I went on to get third degree black belt and a blackbelt in Hapkido a well a Phillipino Martial Art . I became a blackbelt in tructor and I erved a Senior In tructor for a time until I moved on. I had a family and I let my training lap e. Now in the mid t of a very difficult and painful divorce (a if there i another kind?) I am reconnecting and I am making my comeback. It' all becau e of the upport of the MAI family and e pecially becau e of Ma ter Juliu . He' been there for me through all the year and he i o much more then a friend. He i my teacher and mentor and he i the heart and oul of that chool. The rea on it feel like a family i becau e he i a father figure to me and many other tudent . I ay you hould give thi chool a try and make your own deci ion . I ,for one, would go nowhere el e. Thi place i my family and my home.view less
