As a child I remember Cookies & Kool-Aid and wondering why VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL wasn't for the whole summer. Chuck & Karen McKeag made it FUN, unlike other churches where it doesn't seem enjoyable to hear "The Word of the LORD." Now, many years later my youngest daughter is a Sparks in the Awana. They meet every Wednesday night from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm. It is so refreshing to hear her tell EVERYONE that on Wednesdays she gets to go to 2 schools. Then from the time I pick her up after school until 6:15 pm all I hear is "How much longer until we leave for Awanas. Is it time yet?" The church is beautiful & the members are also. I have never felt pressured to do anything for the church to benefit from the church. They appreciate anything you give to them or help them with very much. I am not an early bird, so Sunday Morning Services & Sunday School is not my thing. I would suggest that they might have a Saturday Night Service with Kids Saturday School for an option. I would seriously think about driving elders & others who have no transportation, to Saturday Night Services (and Grocery Shopping after Service) for those who are in need. My husband & I had the ability of doing that for my mother & 2 of her friends, until the passing of 2 out of 3 of them just this year. Open your Hearts & Let the Lord in at Calvary Lutheran Church. My children attend this center and they LOVE it. Every child receives Christmas gifts, Easter basket, and learning that takes them through Kindergarten. The field trips are amazing and free. They went to the Children's Museum, Fun Plex, Zoo, Pump It Up, and soo much more. They also have a party every year to kick off the summer, where they have a petting zoo, clowns, face painting, games, and much more. I fully support this center the director is also very very sweet she is very helpful and has a big heart. I recommend this center to anyone that is looking for a family center that is good to parents and their children.
I know Principal Krzycki she is the mother of one of my best friends her daughter Kendal is the best young lady so ask Principal Krzycki how her daughter is. Her daughter Kendal has an in operable brain tumor. Since she herself is a mother I know that she'll treat your kids with all the love and discipline that they need.
