Wonderful place to dine! Always the best service and food. My friends and I can't get away from the Chicken Vermouth. Try it! Everything else I have tried has been amazing also. Very cozy little restaurant and always a very pleasant crowd of people to dine around. We come here quite often...sometimes 1-2 times per week. Never waited over 30 seconds to be seated. They are showing us our table before we get in the door.

We visited the restaurant for Valentines Day later in the evening when business had slowed. I had called earlier that day and spoke to someone about reservations etc., although they were completely booked, she was still the nicest person on the phone to me and had suggested to come a bit later than the rush anyways. Very helpful and very professional! We had a wine suggested to us that ended up being my favorite of all the wines I had ever tried. We ordered the cheese trio and they gave us some extra cheeses and bread rolls for the road. Very relaxed and content environment with no loud people or music. As we were leaving around 10:45, everybody (workers relaxing in the restaurant waiting to close) I kid you not, said thank you and have a great evening and showed us out. They were absolutely the nicest people we had encountered on our special evening out with each other. Our date, for once, didn't end in either of us irritated with the service we'd had anywhere. So Thank you for being so friendly and welcoming and making our Valentine's Day extra pleasant and special!

My wife and I stumbled onto the Metro one night, not knowing what to expect. Mark was our waiter and the evening was a total success. We've tried everything from the specials to the steaks to the cedar plank salmon and never been disappointed. Mark has moved on to his own business, but the wait staff is still great. Their wine selection is excellent for even an expert, which I'm not. We've been introduced to many wines which are now our favorites.
We've been to many of the ballyhooed restaurants in OKC, but none have beaten the Metro...Mickey Mantle's is a tie, but didn't beat the Metro.
I would highly recommend the Metro for family dining or a special night like a fortieth anniversary. In fact that is where we'll be tomorrow night for our Ruby Anniversary. Try the spinach salad, its fantastic.

My wife and I are foodies - commonly visiting many restaurants. On the basis of your recommendation we went here. The ambiance is quite nice but that is where it ends. We ordered wine, salad and entree. The wine was not served until after the salad course was over- almost as an after-thought. This was surprising since the restaurant was over 1/2 empty at the time. The salads were bland and relatively tasteless - not at all living up to the glorious descriptions in the menu. I would have to say it was as if the entire kitchen staff had lost their passion for food. We had both ordered the special entree for the evening - gorgonzola encrusted pork chop with rib served on a bed of mashed sweet potato with smoky gouda and a honey mustard reduction glaze. Well when served the pork was seared but without any seasoning and no evidence of gorgonzola. the Sweet potatoes were actually quite good. When we asked - we were told the gorgonzola was scraped off so it would not burn - B*** -it never was there. The waitress brought a small dish of gorgonzola, grape puree to the table. Well the original description had said nothing about grapes and the lack of simple salt and pepper with extremely tough pork chops still failed to bring this even remotely to an acceptable entree. Finally we ordered coffee and a chocolate fudge cake with fresh berries. Well the cake was fresh from the freezer - and no fresh berries in sight but a rasberry reduction sauce on the plate. The coffee was weak but at least hot enough to warm the cold cake.
The descriptions of the food suggested very up scale food and if the food had been prepared with a fraction of the care and enthusiasm of the menu descriptions it would have been a pleasant evening. Don't go here unless you really enjoy being sorely disappointed.

I ate at the Metro several years ago b/c I wanted to see if it was as nice as people said it was. It turned out to be okay. I could tell the servers definetly worked the tables in which they felt they would recieve the best tips, understandable enough. As a single individual I don't believe I was looked past, but definetly not provided with serves equilvalent to the standards that I had heard about. The food I remember was decent for OK, but now that I live in S.F. I come to see that there are truly finer establishments out there.

I don't know where the previous reviewer dined, but it couldn't have been the Metro! The Metro has been my absolute favorite special occasion restaurant for over 15 years. The service is always friendly but very attentive. They have the most intersting and one of the largest wine selections in OKC and the food is always superb! I always take out-of-towners there to impress.

I have eaten at this restaurant many times through the years, and even as a former restaurant owner, always enjoyed it! But what a horrible turn the place has taken. I took an out of town business guest there, to ""show off"" a fine OKC destination restaurant. UGH! The service was awful...we stood at the door for ten minutes before being seated. The service was slow, the bread was cold, the $25 price per steak bought us tough, grissly, dry ""New York Strip"" (NOT), which barely passed as a snack for my puppy. Three of us spent over one hundred dollars (no drinks or dessert). I left hungry, but with dry, tough meat in a doggy bag. I wrote a letter of complaint, hoping for a reply or apology of some sort, and got nothing! I can't say enough bad things about this place!
