El Chico s Mexican food tradition began in 1940. The El Chico story began when Adelaida Cuellar's homemade tamales drew huge crowds at a small county fair in 1926. Her sons opened a cafe in Dallas and followed their mother's recipes for enchiladas with chile con carne sauce. The restaurant has since grown into nearly 100 locations in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana, which includes more than 25 franchise operations. El Chico s menu features a variety of Mexican cuisine. The appetizers include beef or bean nachos, taquitos, chicken quesadillas and chili con queso. Even the soups, salads and sandwiches are served with a Mexican flair, with dishes such as taco salad, tortilla soup and the fajita steak sandwich. In addition, El Chico s offers enchiladas, fajitas, tacos, burritos, chimichangas and tamales.
The food and service were good.

We had the BEST time ever@ ElChico's, my buddy and I joined our wives for a day of shopping at the mall- I know BAD day, it was about an hour in when we came upon ElChico's on our way into JCPenny's we looked at each other at the same time and said ""come get us when the damage is done"". The next hour we spent drinking margaritas and watching the NFL channel(this makes shopping a breeze)! Gentelman take your wives to Quail Springs mall and have a couple of beers or a GREAT margarita at ElChico's and score a couple of brownie points in the process.\r MR
