Donnie was a great guide and my boyfriend and I had a wonderful ride. I've been riding my entire life, compete in show jumping, and I was more than happy with how the horses were cared for. The horses were in good condition, their hooves and weight, and they all get water after every ride. I was scared they would be super dead heads and zombies, but very pleased that they weren't. All the horses had energy, you could see their personality, and were pleasant. It makes me happy to see a stable that doesn't just tire the crap out of the horses to make them dead heads. Horses have a personality, if that scares you, don't ride.... there's no reason to write a bad review when you're the reason your horse was bad.. If you can relax, have balance, and can sit still.. you'll have an excellent ride.

My daughter, niece, and I went riding today and we loved it!!!! My husband and I will be going for the adults moon light rides. The guide was very respectful when it came to helping a young lady on her horse he used his shoulder instead of his hands not invading privacy was a he did that I thought was a huge plus! He was polite and my seven year old daughter was scared she was crying he got a lead rope and led her during the trail ride!!! He did that with kids at one point he had two. He was amazing and we will be back!!!! Horses were taken care of all had water and no sores! These people were great!!!! Loved it!!!!!

My children (4,8,and 10) went riding today. The lady on the phone was very polite. We were greeted by our guide who broke the ice with a few jokes. He was patient with my kids as they have no experience in ridding led us to a safe area and taught my kids a few things about riding and even got them to try it with out their lead ropes... The conversation was nice during the ride. He even gave the kids an old horse shoe and told them to hang it up for good luck. I was pleased w the overall experience so much my children and I have decided to try to go back once a month weather permitting. The horses look healthy... And the ones we had were easily controlled even by my 8 year old. And the little dog that stayed with us the whole ride was just adorable.

I don't know about the other reviews but all of us left happy. And my kids learned some confidence in them selves .. To me that's priceless. Thanks for the relaxing stroll around the lake!

Great place!

It sounds like to me that you, Brittany, you have a big personal problem with Donnie or someone else. This is my families business and all that you said was a huge lie! My mom is the one that answers the phone and she takes pride in running her business in the best and finest way! My dad, always makes sure all the horses are fat, clean, healthy, and very well taken care of! As far as the horses being tied up In a pasture with tall grass/weeds...!? They are tied up under a shaded area with clean water to drink! They are not in the hot sun with green water with bugs swimming around! As far as the worker Donnie, he has a dry personality but at the same time has a huge heart! Everyone has bad days, No one is perfect. He made you AND your HUSBAND cry...!? Hmmm. You couldn't talk about it for weeks without crying... It took you 3 months to write this... It's sounds to me you are being VERY dramatic and like I said before, have a huge personal problem for whatever reason! We have good and bad reviews. But what business doesn't that has been in buiness for 10+ years?

I would like anyone that reads all these reviews good and bad to give The Riding Stables a chance yourself and them make your own opinion because I promise you, you will not be disappointed!!

Read a lot of reviews about this place about how rude the guide was. We gave it a chance anyway since the prices were decent. WOW What a mistake that was!!! All the horses were covered in sores and a few had some bad hooves that were peeling like crazy. There were horses tied in a very over grown field and away from water. As a matter of fact there was NO WATER near any horses and the water that was just out of reach was dark green. The guide up and drove off at one point leaving all about 10 horses alone for a full 30 minutes in an Okie summer with no water. Horses are like big babies you do not leave them like that water or not. I felt horrible and should have left at that point but we stayed because the prices are cheaper. I feel dirty still for just being involved in paying the guide. The tour guide made me AND my husband CRY!!!! He was so mean and very disrespectful, had a real chip on his shoulder about “baby sitting adults” even though we were very clear before we even paid about my husband being a beginner. He was very angry with me because I said I had some experience which according to him was very incorrect. I’ve rode horses before. I’ve been going on guided tours for five years now and never have I been treated like this nor did I need a guide to tie my horse to his and drag it along. He had absolutely no control over his horses after he untied them from their hitches. They didn’t want to listen - no blaming them there, poor things. My horse, after switching them out many times (which was apparently all my fault) just gave up at the start if the trail and RAN FULL SPEED THROUGH THE PARKING LOT back to its post (the guide pointed out that this was my fault as well). The horses are not well trained. It's very obvious. The guide gets mad if you don't ride them his way - which is weird because the way I ride is how every stable I've ever been to has instructed me and I've gone to many between Oklahoma down to Florida. We were done at that point, none of the horses were responsive for anyone, even for the other customer who had his daughter with him, and we all swapped out at least 2-3 times each. This trip left me so emotionally scarred that I couldn’t talk about it for a few weeks without crying and certainly couldn’t sit down and write this review until 3 months after because it was so upsetting. I loved learning how to ride horse but now I never ever ever want to get back up again which is making me tear up again. No such thing as a refund despite all that happened. Stay away. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME.

WARNING!

Ive gone riding here plenty of times and on other occasions. Just yesterday I went there and the so called "guide" was VERY rude. During our trail ride my horse was spooked and took off with me on it. The "guide" was on his cellphone the whole time and thought that yelling at me was ok for what occured. He also thought it was ok to drink a beer while on the ride. I would find somewhere else to go, they obviously have changed management. The horses are not tame enough for kids. It seems they bought horses that other people didnt want and are using them now for "trail rides." Hope this helps.

GREAT DEAL!

2 hours for $20. They load you up about 3 or 4 blocks from the lake and then the horses are on autopilot from there- very good for children. The owners say that you can wander off from the group and explore on your own, if you can get your horse to break pattern. The only rules are be calm and the horse will be too, and DON'T RUN or even TROT. other than that I go out of my way to continue my birthday tradition of horseback riding at Draper Lake!
