I have had my children at Little Shoes Learning Center for over three years. I have never had a problem with the teachers/staff. The facility is always clean, welcoming, professional and it has a home-environment feel. There is always communication between the center and home. Children are sent home with daily sheets which report diaper changes/bathroom usage-for potty training, daily activities (what is being taught-letter C, Number 9 etc.), items of need (extra clothes, diapers, etc.). Additionally, parents can follow along on the Center's private Facebook page, where pictures of your children can be viewed (permission from parents is obtained prior to pictures being posted). There are 3 large storm shelters- this is a necessity in Moore, OK. The children are always engaged in activities at every age. Infants finger paint and bring home adorable parent keepsakes. Older kids work on letters, numbers, colors and skills needed for preschool. All children are learning various skills while playing and the children are introduced to different languages. To respond to a previous post, my children have come home with bites, scrapes, bruises from falls, etc. but each incident was documented and I was informed each time and given complete information on what happened. There has been times where the teacher on-duty did not have all of the information I was asking for but I was able to get in contact with the teacher that was on-duty to get the answers I requested. Video cameras do show each of the rooms so that incidents can be reviewed if necessary. Kids are going to be kids; part of growing, learning, and playing involves getting a few unavoidable bumps here and there. The teachers are not neglectful and they do care for the children they are watching. Little Shoes Learning Center is my children's home away from home. They are comfortable, learning, socializing, and being cared for by loving people. I go out of my way to take my girls to this Center- I won't change.
We have been attending this daycare for 3 months and are very happy with it so far. It is a relaxed but structured atmosphere where the owner has a daily presence. Our previous daycare was basically run by the director and the owner did not spend much time at the establishment; this is not the case at Little Ones. The owner may not be there every second of the day, but I hardly feel that is necessary. His cell phone number is given out freely so if there is an issue he is reachable. Every time I have called the daycare I have gotten through with no problem. Many of the teachers are moms too and I feel that they truly take an interest in my son. I also feel that they are good at communicating with me about my son and anytime we ask them to make a change in his routine, it is made with no problem. If there is a revolving door at this daycare, as the previous commenter suggests, I have not noticed it yet. There are going to be issues with any daycare; however, I certainly don’t think that attacking the wardrobe choices of a teenager is the appropriate way to handle disappointment in your child care establishment. Update: 07/10/2012 We have now been attending this daycare for over a year and still like it. I always get a hold of someone when I call and nearly all of the teachers that were there when we started attending are still there. I am having another baby in December and she will also be attending this daycare. It's not the prettiest building on the outside but it's what's on the inside that counts!
My Daughter went to Cornerstone Child Development for over two years and we never had any problems and were very happy with the way she was treated there. It's hard to read such a bad review and to be quite honest, if this child really did get out and run down the street, that tells me a lot about how this child is probably being raised at home. Question: Is it the daycare or the child's parenting that really caused this type of behavior. All it takes is a few bad reviews form some irate (over the top, over exaggerated) parent to ruin a good daycares name and reputation. I can tell you that if this really happened, it was a fluke and I'm sure there is two sides to the story. Go and check this place out for yourself and then go and look at other places. I'm sure you will pick cornerstone over the others. This place is ran by people who work very hard and probably work a little too much at times. I know the owner very well from our experience there and she is a very hard worker and good person with great character. I would recommend this place to any new family starting out in the daycare world. You will not be disappointed. Five star daycare. Remeber: don't believe everything you read. Do your own research. Go there and and see the place and that will answer all of your questions and concerns.
Camms, I appreciate every day that you recommended FCL. It's a great help to my wife and I, and our children love it. It gets 4 stars because no place is as good as home. But words aren't enough when you find people that value your children the way you do, and not much needs to be said when people do such a wonderful job. If you need a daycare that actually cares, try First Class Learning. As a side note, it has been my experience that people who own businesses tend to want them to be the best, especially if they are interested in money. Even non-profits are dedicated to making money so they can put it where they were made for. It doesn't make sense to say they want money and then say they run a poor business. If your business is food, you make good food. If your business is teaching children, you get good teachers. Anonymous, your poor spelling and grammar are evident throughout all you have written. I would not let you teach my children.
I'm a big fan of this place! People make the difference in everything and they have great people! I don't feel bad about when I have to go to school anymore and I feel like my daughter is learning as I am: all the time! (Response to anonymous: They didn't ask for good reviews. They just said if you like what we do, write a review. Since FCL helps me out so much, I was moved to do so. Also, you are suggesting I was either bought, bullied, or that my daughter is a liar. I have received no money or incentives, I cannot be bullied, and my daughter is brutally honest, like most children. It escapes me why you wouldn't know of the brutal honesty children have, as it is obvious you are an ex-employee, which means you worked with children and do not understand them. Reading through these reviews, it's easy to see you wrote all of the bad ones. The style, grammar, and anger are the same. That's too bad.)
My child has been enrolled for many years at Childtime. The management has changed within the past year. The new management team are great. They are every bit as wonderful as the previous manager. The teachers are consistant, caring, and extrememly compassionate. I consider myself very lucky to have my child attend Childtime.
Best child care ever! You are treated just like family. The care is just what you would give at home. This is coming from a first time mommy who was at home with her daughter for 1 year.. I did a lot of research and Erin (owner) is the highest rated and recomended! Your chlid will love this place! As will you!! :)
From past experience with daycares I had low expectations especially considering some reviews. But I'm very impressed and very pleased with the care they put into my child. This IS more than just a daycare and having tried it I can't understand any bad reviews. First Class is going to be a big help this summer.
I wouldn't take my child anywhere else. The facility always smells good and is clean. That is rare. The director is so kind and very understanding. My child has learned a lot and is happy since he's been going here. I would definitely recommend this daycare to anyone.
I've read book after book on the developing brain and needed a place that would provide proper stimulation for when I'm not with my baby. First Class Learning is that place. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a place that will help care for their children.
