Ok so sometimes I crave this place and just need to stop in for either dinner or lunch. They have the best menu around and the employees are all very polite! During my most recent visit I had the Vegetable Sambusa soup – best around and I love the combination of the peas and carrots – you can never get enough of those. For my main meal I ordered the Kitfo and although the food portion was quite large it was very delicious! My husband ordered the Kantisha with mushrooms and I think I ate more of his than he did! Now I know what to order next time! If you haven’t tried the shrimp then I highly suggest that you do- we had it the last time we came in and it was probably the best shrimp I tasted! I would also suggest the Red Sea Combination which if you are undecided once your waitress comes to take your order then you get a sampler of a few good dishes (chicken, lamb, beef) on the menu. Great place and the food rocks! My family and I highly recommend this place!

We tried this place this weekend and I was very impressed. The food was amazing, pricing was fair and the employees were very friendly. The place was not that crowded at all and there was enough room between tables that you didn’t hear any other conversations except for the lady that was talking on her phone for 15 minutes. We started with the Vegetable Sambusa which I never had but loved and ordered a second plate! I got the Dorho Kantisha for dinner and my friend ordered the Begee Alitch. Both were delicious! If you haven’t stopped in here yet I suggest putting it on your to do list this weekend or over the new year’s break!

Since being introduced to Ethiopian food my family has preferred it over any other - even over Mexican food! Individual family members will go out of their way to visit the Red Sea Restaurant. We especially love the Injera bread served with each meal. Over the years I've found that sometimes language could be a barrier, causing us to receive the wrong meals at tmes; but EVERYTHING on the menu is pretty good, so receiving a meal we didn't order usually turns out to be a plus because sometimes we get to try something new we hadn't tried before. It’s a great place - I truly love it!

the food on the buffett, what there was (which wasn't much) was generally very oily with out much spice. There are too many other Ethopian restaurants in the area to waste another meal time at this one.

This is an authentic and friendly restaurant serving delicious Ethiopian food. It's the best Ethiopian food I've had in the East Bay because it is consistently fresh and the injera is not too dry. The staff is friendly with timely service, it's a nice atmosphere, and the neighborhood allows for easy parking/general access. And if you want to watch soccer and enjoy the bar scene, there is a little sports bar attached to the restaurant.
