Professional African Hair Braiding Open 7 Days Walk-Ins Welcome
great braiding...i've been here for two years and my hair has grown past my shoulders after having extreme short hair......BUT!!!! They do take alot of talktime on the phone and playin with babies and takin too long to do your hair.... but i love there work......
Ladies and Gents keep looking. I had gone to this shop 2 other occasion and found there work to be satisfactory, however on Saturday, May 14, 2011 this was one of the worst experiences I have had to deal with getting my hair braided in life at a salon. My appointment was at 9:00am and tall african young lady was late 30 minutes. We discuss my request for services and she begins. Around 12:45pm she decided too stop braiding my hair to go to the store. I questioned where did she gone after 10 minutes had gone by with the other ladies in the shop and was told she had gone to the bank and the lines where long. Mind you this is my time and my money. After 45 minutes returning from the bank and not the store she proceeds to finish. I explained to her that I had another appointment and needed to be out of the shop by 4:00pm. Street vendors, babies crying, babies opening and closing doors, drawers, my braider wanting to hold and interact with one of the babies. Constant ly handling personal cell phone calls, discussions of graduation plans etc. If I had know that Aicha was not in here shop I would have cancelled appointment. The young lady did not represent her business as professional braider let alone a licensed cosmotogolist. I understand taking a reasonable break, but to take care of your banking on my time is not acceptable. I asked her to cut the back of my hair at 5:00pm and she assumed I didn't want to pay. I told her I was the pay customer and throw what I thought she deserved on table and left the shop. Aicha suggestion: tell the young lady she needs to do the following: go wash that malodorus odor of your body and get 2 real good pedicures. Looks like she has been walking on rocks and hot lava all of her young life.
There's a lady in Akwaba named Aicha, God she is the best ever. I kept her braid on for 9 months and that's the longest I've kept any braid on because most of those African Braiders don't really do a good job that a long time.
If you value your scalp's health stay away from akwaba braid shop.
