This attorney is a great talker. But don't let that foul you, because he's billing you and at the end of the day or in my case the end of the year he has not done his job. Will not and do not recommend him.

Child Support
In the past, Illinois law was fairly straightforward when it came to determining how much a parent was supposed to pay in child support. It was based solely on the income of the non-custodial parent, with the parent paying 20% of his or her income in child support for one child and 28% for two children. For three children, the parent would pay 32%, and it would max out at 40% for a person with four or more children.
Child Custody and Visitation
Child custody issues often arise when the parents divorce. Oftentimes, one parent wants full custody and is unwilling to negotiate custody with the other parent. This can lead to contentious custody battles that affect the relationships between the parents and the children.
Paternity
When minor children are involved, the couple can decide on child custody and a visitation schedule. If the parents can not come to an agreement, the court will decide. When deciding on child custody issues, the judges look at the best interests of the child. They will aim for joint custody, although they will look at factors that could make a person an unfit parent, such as allegations of abuse or neglect, criminal history, and substance abuse. If the child is older, they will also take his or her preferences into consideration. If the parents were unmarried at the time of the childâ€™s birth, then paternity issues may be at play. The alleged father can ask the court to determine paternity if there is any issue, especially since he will likely be forced to pay child support.

The plan often asks for forgiveness for other debts. However, not all debts can be discharged under this type of bankruptcy. For example, student loans, alimony, and child support must still be paid.

In a separation, the parties decide on property division and child custody matters just like they would in a divorce. However, the parties are not legally divorced.
