Palisades Audi

BEWARE! Brought my 2006 A4 in to Palisades Audi in July. Was displaying classic signs of cam/cam follower failure which Audi had issued a quasi-recall on (including the requisite CEL codes). I told them it appears to be that issue and the follower/cam needed to be inspected. The next day they changed the in-tank fuel pump and said that was my problem. I asked them if the cam/follower looked OK during the inspection and they told me they inspected it and it looked fine with no problems. On the way home, the car was doing the SAME EXACT THING it was doing when I dropped it off. Obviously not road tested after the "repair".

I brought the car to an independent shop owned by a master-level VW/Audi mechanic. He stated (and took pics to prove) they had never even removed the HPP necessary to inspect the cam to begin with! He inspected the cam/follower and took pictures, reassembling and inspecting it at MY cost. I then brought it back to Audi-this time they actually DID the inspection they said they already did and ended up changing the cam and follower that was the problem in the first place.

I inquired as to whether Palisades Audi would reimburse me for the hundreds of dollars I had to spend to have someone competent inspect my car for something they SAID they did, and was told unequivocally, no. I will pursue the issue further through Audi corporate and if needed, small claims court to recoup my outlay.
