FIRST THE WATER SERVED TO ME TURNED OUT TO BE WELL WATER. YES, THEY GIVE YOU WELL WATER!!!!!! THE CHIPS AND SALSA ARE SOOOOO GROSS. THE SALSA IS DEFINITELY FROM A CAN. AND THE CHIPS ARE OF POOREST QUALITY. I HAD CHICKEN QUESIDALLLS AND THEY WERE SOOO GROSS IF MY KIDS WERENT WITH ME, I WOULD OF THROWN IT ALL UP IN THEIR NASTY BATHROOM. MY POOR DAUGHTER HAD THEIR $13 STEAK FAJITAS AND WOULDN'T TOUCH THEM. THE LETTUCE WAS BROWN AND THE CHEESE WAS GROSS.HOW IS THIS PLACE OPEN????? IM CALLING FOOD INSPECTORS TOMORROW. DON'T EAT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ANYBODY GIVING GOOD REVIEWS HERE HAVE TO BE THE OWNERS OR EMPLOYEES!!!!!!!

A friend of mine worked at ole ole I don't think it 's a nice restaurant. They re-use the chips and salsa. The owner hits on all the girls that work for him. It's just not a professional restaurant. I would not trust eating drinking or working at ole ole. Just looking at the building you can see that it's not a clean place. I don't think any restaurant should re-use food.

I swore off this dump and then decided to give it another try. I am amazed they are still open. The Bartender was rude, drinks made wrong. The food was ok, but ok is not what I want to pay good money for. Once again I am swearing off this pig sty.

A 19 year old girl friend of mine was attacked and sexually assaulted at this restaurant last week by the owner. It was her second day on the job and he invited her to come in during off hours. He offered her a drink and proceeded to make sexual advances on her. When she refused him, he slapped her and threw her around. She did not want to press charges cause she is scared. The police said he has complaints against him for previous attacks on other young girls. What a sleaze!

I went to Ole Ole w/ a few co-workers for lunch on a Friday. There was one waitress for seating, waiting tables, and bartending, so needless to say, we were in there much longer than our well intentioned 45 mins. The first batch of chips were stale, so we asked for fresh, and the waitrtess did do that (2nd batch much fresher).\r Food was ok, but nothing great. I would not go out of my way to eat here again.\r As far as the price goes, kind of on the high side for the quality. Quantity was fair.

Today I decided to take my children to Ole Ole for Cinco de Mayo, the main meal was average for Mexican cuisine but not bad. One thing that disappointed us, which for my family and I is a big deal was the chips and Salsa the chips were extremely hard without salt and the salsa was also just average. The biggest issue I had was that there was a kids menu however when my two year old sons drink was delivered it was over flowing in an adult size cup and when his meal arrived it was so hot I could not even handle it. If you want to make a family with little kids happy MAKE SURE YOU MAKE THE LITTLE KIDS HAPPY which is the key to every tippers wallet. Just use your head, would you serve it to your little brother, sister or son/daughter? If the answer is no then don't serve it!

6/15/08 - Wow, has this place changed for the worse! I went in there yesterday and it was terrible. I see they've gone back to their skanky waitstaff and even skankier bartender (brunette - I think her name is Bridgett or something, I think she also works at Bayside). They've raised all their drink prices and lowered the quality liquor they use. I watched someone order a 'top shelf' drink and saw the skanky bartender give them 'house' liquor... nice, honest establishment. But I bet she still got her tip based on that 'top shelf' purchase. Repulsive!\r \r The salsa I had was bad (spoiled) and the chips were stale - the chip basket had dried salsa on it - ick!. I was nervous to order food, not sure what would be in it! I've driven past here the last couple weekends to see if there is anyone there (especially with all the festivities the last couple weekends on the lake) and nope, only a few cars (probably the workers cars). I have heard that even the 'regulars' don't go there much anymore. \r \r I doubt this place will be open much past summer -- I don't know how it can!

I am not sure if the rest of these people ate at the same place I did but I could not disagree more with most of the reviews. I say close this place and bring back Frigates.

We have eaten here many times, and the only thing we don't care for is the water. The portions are always generous, the chips and salsa always fresh. It's not Taco Bell, the food here is prepared by hand and is very tasty. We eat early, so we've never had to wait for seating. Our children like the burritos, my wife and I prefer the Mexican Sandwich. The music on the weekends can be too loud for our liking, so we try to sit away from it.

One of the worst meals I ever had overall.\r \r The service was good. Atmosphere was below average. It's very smoky in there. Building is old and run down. Food was very bad. I would not eat there again\r

The food was good. The portions are very good size. The service wasn't that great. Server did not pay attention to drinks and ask if we needed anything. She also added a dollar to her tip on the credit card slip after we left. That turned us off. We might go back, but definatly won't sit where she is the server. \r My family loves Mexican food. I will say that the chips were too spicy for the kids though. They might want to re-think the chips and salsa and make something a little more ""family friendly"". I will probably not be a regular at this restaurant.

I totally judge a mexican place by their salsa and theres was so amazing that we (2 people) at one whole bowl before dinner and one during dinner and I was so stuffed but I just couldnt stop with the salsa! I have been dreaming about it since. The food was great and the servers were very accomodating and friendly. We missed the marriache band but hopefully next time!

The views of the lake and the decor on the inside make you feel like just arrived in mexico!!! coronas, margaritas and the staff made us feel great! the place was very busy so we waited about 20 minutes for a table, thechips anf salsa were so warm and tasted like they just were made.I had the carne asada and a huge bowl filled with margarita, my friend had there sangria, which was by far the BEST ive ever had.Ole Ole is definately by far my favorite mexican restaurant. try their guacomole!!!!!!!

ok after reading all these reviews, we tried this place, infact we are going there tommorrow for lunch. The food was great and being a family of 5 the prices were unbelievable. I highly reccomend reservations, becuase the place was very busy for a wedsnday night, and to tell you the truth my husband and i really felt like we went to cancun becuase of all the views of walled lake. The chips and salsa were great and the taco salad was even better. My husband tried the trio enchiladas and what a treat!!! I will be writing a letter to molly abrams, the food critic for the det free press, she needs to go to ole ole and see what all this raving is about

mexican is my favorite food, so im very picky when i try one. Ole Ole by far is the best mexican reastaurant we have in the metro detroit area. with views of walled lake from every window, i felt i was at aculpulco bay. I went there after danny raskin(the food critic for the jewishnews gave Ole Ole excellent reviews.dannyraskin was right.my wife and i ordered the delux fajitas which consists of steak, shrimp, chicken and bbq ribs on a huge flaming skillet for 15 bucks, there was enough food to feed 4 of us, everthing melted in our mouth, and yes by far ole's bbq ribs excellent! The service was great, and this place should be noted for that great mexican hospitality. We are reguars now and go there at least once a week, the owners, Rob and Sam are always very pleasant this lace gets 10 stars in my book!
