Black Rock Bar & Grill

I was in the Black Rock in Novi, MI, USA, and had the best waiter I have had in some time. Willie was his name, and his service was perfect! Attentive, but not overbearing. I truly had a wonderful dining experience, and left him a good tip to show my appreciation. However, I also want the Black Rock Grill management to recognize him for his excellent service and efforts toward pleasing his patrons. I hope the next time I see him, he will be a manager, as he has a good feel for how to make the customers happy and keep them returning! After reading some of the reviews, we were happy with our experience. We had a wonderful & attentive waiter named Matt. The steaks were good and it was fun. Our waiter taught us how to cook them which was easy. We'll be back!

This is nothing more than a cheap steak thrown on a hot rock. Staff was terrible. Overpriced. The owner is on Fox 2 Detroit's hall of shame too. I wouldnt give a crook like that my money. Look into it and i guarantee you wont go there either.

Worst service that I've ever experienced. Food is average. Price are outrageous!!!

Went with my wife and two other friends, and all 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Place was crowded, but we only had to wait 10 minutes for our table. The black stone concept is kind of cool. Once you cut off a small piece of meat (or seafood), just put it on the stone and let it sizzle.



My wife and our friends had the filet, and I tried my wife's. It was delicious. I had the lobster pizza, and it was just awesome.



My only complaints are: 1) Alcohol is expensive there, and the food isn't cheap, but is of excellent quality, so that makes it worth it. 2) It took a while to get our food, but it wasn't too bad.



With all of the sizzling stones, there is a lingering steak aroma throughout the restaurant, but frankly, what is wrong with that? If it smelled like burned fish, that would be another conversation.



I will go there again, and would recommend it.

First time at this place (either location). Even with reservation had to wait about 20 minutes. Front desk staff seemed overwhelmed.

Once seated, waitstaff was fine, but didn't inform us at all of how things worked in terms of the cooking stone thing.

Appetizers small and disappointing for the price.

The worst part was the ventilation and smell of the place! By 7:30pm on a Saturday night the entire restaurant was full of a think greasy dense smoke. Seemed everyone was getting the cooking stone thing and it generates so much smoke and odor you'd' think they would have air circulation or something, but they did not. Almost got hard to breathe!

I'm not exaggerating when I say that my wife and I stunk so bad we were embarrassed to go to the movies! Our clothes, hair, coats just reeked! We had to take showers and put our clothes in the garage it was so bad.

Food was just ok. Expensive. Crowded. MALODOROUS!
