This afternoon 12/31/14 I came upon The Antique Roadhouse in Norwood as I driving through town. Unfortunately, a note on the door said they were closed for Christmas / New Years. As I looked at their website on my phone I saw many lovely pieces. So, I called the after hours number on the door. The owner and I spoke for a few minutes when he told me if I didn't mind waiting (I certainly did not mind) he'd come by in about 15 minutes to open up for me. He was very kind to do this for me, especially when I found out he'd just got home minutes before my call from a Dr's appointment...and on New Year's Eve day! Needless to say I found several pieces to buy which they'll be delivering to me this weekend. This kind of service, quality and professionalism is a rare exception these days and I felt the Antique Roadhouse deserved my time to shout their praise.
Andrew helped us with cleaning out my mother's estate. Not only was he especially kind to us at such a trying time but he saved us from throwing away valuable things we thought just junk. Believe you me, what we thought was total maybe thousands he turned into tens of thousands. Thank you Antique Roadhouse!
I have sold a number of items from family estates through Andrew and been in the shop. Sometimes, I hang around just to learn. He's shown me and other clients trick for dating and authenticating items. He's helpful, too, in looking at well-preserved and well-crafted items from as lates as the 1840's.
