This bar is most definitely the bar of my choice if I am in the Clear Lake area! My review will be broken down into sections: -Location Upstairs and to the right of Scout Bar Coming from Houston, take I-45s to Nasa 1 Parkway(new exit south of the old Nasa 1 rd exit), then exit Egret bay and take a right, it is in the big 2-story building on the left just past the 1st light. -Parking Parking is free. If there is no parking right in front of the bar, they have a whole parking lot on the south side of Bucks(some of it is covered) -Entry When you first walk up, you will be welcomed by the friendly staff possibly even the owner(Buck) himself. If you are one of the first 100 people to arrive, you will get in free. It may be first 200 now, not sure(If not its only $5). However, if you arrive early, make sure you are with a group of people and are just wanting to get started with the drinking because the bulk of the crowd won't arrive until around Midnight. -Drink Cost The drinks are pretty cheap between 10 and 12 o'clock, but they never become unreasonable. They are even cheaper before 10. I think $6 is the most you will spend on a drink with a top-shelf liquor during peak hours. **Buck will get on the microphone and offer dollar Jager, Tequila, or some other great deals "if you can find him" at one of the 4 bars his is standing at periodically.** -Inside Details As mentioned before, there are 4 bars, 2 dance floors(one of which has stage area in center for girls only), and several VIP areas of which are treated extremely well! The joint has an excellent sound system and DJs that play mostly today's hiphop with some dance and the random throwback songs. All in all, if you want to shake it on the floor, it accommodates you. They also usually have some pretty good break dancers in there going off for some entertainment! They even have a couple of pool tables and a punching bag for you guys that need to let some aggression out or have a competition with your buddies. Hell, I have even seen some cute girls line up for some action. -Crowd This is where some of you may like or dislike it, but I will be real. There is not a strict dress code, therefore, there is a mixture of styles here. They do have some very good looking people(both men and women) that come here, though. It is also 18 and up for women and some people don't like that. Even though I would have to say it makes no difference. For you 18-20yr old girls that want to come and still drink, beware! They will not hesitate on politely asking you to leave. So better be sneaky about it or else but I don't recommend it. -Bartenders First of all, they have a world champion bartender(he's awesome at flipping those bottles) who usually tends the bar to the left center. I personally use the bar to the right center bc it is closest to the main dance floor, but all the bartenders are nice, quick and FAIR to all that come up. -Bouncers Bouncers are friendly until you start crap. These guys do not put up with any BS, so don't plan on getting away with fighting. They will take you down to the cops that wait out front. But this is a good thing, there is hardly any fighting going on here. They even have 2 police officers that work inside the club as well. So, overall safe atmosphere. Restrooms Restrooms are in center of bar facing the main entrance and are decent. They do have an attendant inside the men's restroom. Can't speak for the women's though. * This is a smoking bar/club, however, it is well ventilated in here. It is actually not bad at all, there are lots of people that do not smoke that still come and don't complain
Serving the Houston Area.
I've only been here for their weekly specials on crawfish and steaks and it's great! I see that other people have had a hard time getting in at certain times, especially on nights with specials. However, I've been going around 7-8pm on those nights and have no problems getting a table or finding parking. The service is nice, but a little slow at times. People are usually hanging out there and having a good time so it has a fun atmosphere. Crawfish nights are Sundays and Tuesdays at $3.75/lb, and steak nights are Wednesdays at $14 for a 1lb ribeye and fully loaded baked potato. The crawfish is a little overseasoned for my taste, because they cook it in the Cajun seasoning and then douse it with more seasoning after taking it out. I love eating hot foods and usually have no problems, but after eating two pounds of them, I looked like I had a cheap collagen injection and some kid smeared red crayola all over my lips. They do sell small, boiled red potatoes at 4/.75. They're completely bland, but taste like heaven when your lips are on fire. The ribeye is a GREAT deal for $14! They season it and grill it right out front so you can smell you're dinner being cooked (They actually do that with the crawfish as well.). When they bring the steak and potato out to you, they also bring out a huge tupperware container full of all the potato fixings you could ever want (chives, butter, sour cream, bacon bits, shredded cheese). The potato tasted kind of like it was a little old and the steak isn't the best grade, but they tenderized it enough that it was still very tender. Overall, everything was pretty tasty for the money. We're thinking about making Wednesday nights "bonding nights." :)
I had my 30th birthday party at Live! at Bayou Place. It's 4 clubs in 1. The 90's beach-theme club (Shark Bar), techno-theme (Chapel Hill), hip-hop/R&B (Lucie's Liquors), and a pretty cool country-type club (PBR). PBR has a mechanical bull that you can ride--and we did. HOWEVER, WORD TO THE WISE, IF YOU BOOK A PARTY HERE, and you are quoted a price, be sure to GET IT IN WRITING. I'd never been to this club so I went the night before to check it out and speak to someone about pricing. While there, I reserved a section in Lucie's Liquors with CHELSEA. She quoted me an awesome deal which was what ultimately convinced me to have my party here. The next night I got there early to be sure our spot didn't get given away--just in case--and it is a good thing I did. My name wasn't on the "seating chart" and even though I was there before the person whose name was on the chart they were trying to seat me in another section all together. I spent the first 20 minutes of my party arguing with the hostess. After I threatened to leave they made other accomodations for the other person. THEN when it came time to pay, they charged me $60 more than I was quoted the night before. Courtney (who is a manager here) and another man claimed that Chelsea, the person I booked with the night before, had been fired and didn't want to honor the price she quoted me. Thankfully I had the sense to have her write it on the back of the business card she gave me and when I showed them I had it in writing, their tones changed and they honored the pricing.
