Bad gift certificate experience!
My son loved the rock climbing try-a-climb program at the NAC so I and my parents thought gift certificates to the NAC would be a good idea. Unfortunately, due to a miscommunication with the staff I purchased the certificates from, we ended up buying way more than he could use doing the try-a-climb. I called to see if we could give the gift certificates away, and was informed that they are non-transferable. Also, that the child they were bought for, who is NINE YEARS old, pretty much only has the option of rock climbing (or swimming in the pool of their other club, the Hampshire Athletic Club--for an exorbitant rate). I just don't understand why a business would sell gift certificates intended for a minor when 90% of their services are not geared towards minors. And that they would just not work with me to get the gift certificate transferred into someone else's (ANYONE ELSE'S) name at this point. Very rigid owners and shame on them considering it is $75 of a KID's money. Way to make a buck!
