I've got four dogs and I tried this clinic because it's closer to my home and I was turned off by the mercenary methods of my last vet. I like the way this vet deals with the problem without looking at me like I'm going to be her next car payment. I haven't had any major health problems with my dogs (yet) but on the health maintenance issues (foxtails, congestion, etc.) she's been fine

I know doctors can have awful personalities, but yikes. Never had an experience like this. Rude, etc. Which I can deal with, but she really didn't know what she was doing. She was all about the money, and when I called her out on it, she became defensive. If it works for other people, god bless. But she really did try to screw, could care LESS about my dog, and in the end -- couldn't account for her actions.
I can't say enough about Dr. Sunada and her staff! This was our third visit to her office, and we had to take 16-year-old Whitey in because he was constantly itching his ears and shaking his head and scratched his ear so much it got a huge blood blister. All this because of ear mites. We had taken him yesterday to another vet in Burbank because it was closer to our home, but for the very same work (surgery, clean, mite treatment) the estimate yesterday was just over $1,000!!! I was resigned to the fact that I would have to do that, but thought I would do so at my own vet office (Dr. Sunada). So today we took Whitey in and for the EXACT same surgery, we got an estimate for just over $300!!!! WTF??? I was amazed! I can't imagine how some vets can live with themselves after overcharging like that!!! I was floored!
Also, Dr. Sunada was VERY helpful and explained our options (which, BTW, include taking in our other three cats tomorrow for ear mite treatments *sigh*) very fully and calmly. She spent as much time as we needed, and we felt completely at ease and un-rushed. She seems very compassionate, and I really liked her.
As a topper, when I made today's appointment, I made it from the office and didn't have the phone number...well...*blush* to make a long story short, I ended up making an appointment today at the wrong vet office. So I go into North Hollywood Animal Care Center at the appointed time this morning, and the woman at the counter could not find my appointment. I told her that I was sure I had made it. So she told me to sit down and they would be with me shortly. After a short wait (10-15 minutes) we started getting a little antsy about the wait (wife had to get to work) and I was getting a little miffed mentally because they told me to come at 9AM or a little before so I could be seen promptly!
Long story short, through a couple of other comments and conversations, on the way out I learned that I hadn't had an appointment there and had actually made an appointment at the wrong vet office! *LOL* How embarassing!!!
So the staff had absorbed me into the morning schedule WITHOUT charging me extra as a walk-in, AND without giving me attitude about insisting I had made an appointment.
Dr. Sunada and her staff now have my unending respect and loyalty :)

Well, at first this place was my place to go to. I had taken my dog there before. Im not going to lie, they were very nice and all but they arent doing their job because they love dogs they're doing it for the money. I dont want to go somewhere where their first priority is money.
I recently went there because my dog was seriously sick. I had gone by myself. They told me that she needed to be hospitalized but first she needed x-rays. I agreed but i told them to wait for my mom because she was the one with them money so they had to tell her. Once I told them that, they werent taking me serious anymore.
What i hated was that they kept on looking at the clock and looked back at me like i was going to steal from them. Since my mom had just gotten out of work she was taking a bit to get there.
They were getting tired of waiting and they told me that, ""they had better things to do."" Right there and then i realized that they dont love animals but money. If they really love animals like they say they wouldnt worry about the money so much and wouldnt treat the customers with such disrespect. I am honestly never going back there again.
Besides i found out that there is a WAY CHEAPER place to go, Holiday Humane Society Clinic. Nows thats a clinic that really cares.

I just took my kitten to North Hollywood Animal Care Center, and couldn't be more impressed. When I got there, the waiting room was quite chaotic, as everybody was dropping off their pets on their way to work. But regardless of the chaos, the front desk staff was extremely efficient and patient. The office was very nice and clean, and smelled good, not ""vetty"" at all.
I had forgotten my kitten's shot paperwork and spay/neuter voucher at home, but the girl assisting me assured me it was no problem, I could bring it in later that day. She was VERY nice, and made this nervous ""mama"" okay with leaving her baby there, even telling me they'd call me as soon as he got out of surgery to let me know how he was, and assuring me that if I wanted, I could go into the back and check on him when I droped the paperwork off at noon.
Okay, now I sound like a crazy cat lady. But I seriously felt like a mother sending her firstborn off to kindergarden, and they made me feel assured that I was leaving him in good hands. They truly seem to care about your pet, and about those annoying pet ""parents"" (i.e. me).
When I went at noon to check on him, they led me past very clean, tidy examination rooms that managed to be spotless, yet warm and welcoming at the same time (not like those scary sterile exam rooms you so often see).
I didn't meet the vet, but she took the time to call me after my kitten got out of surgery to let me know he was okay. I live in Van Nuys, but work in North Hollywood, and I definitely think Max is going to be a repeat patient.

Dr. Sunada is WONDERFUL! She'll take care of your animals VERY well, and she listens to and answers your questions, which is rare these days. She is very reasonably priced, too. What cost me almost $400 at one vet (who didn't know what he was doing anyway) cost me less than half of that at North Hollywood Animal Care. Dr. Sunada also gave one of my animals years longer to live than other vets had predicted. The office staff is very helpful and friendly, which is great when you're distraught about an animal. Trust me... I don't review lightly. They're fabulous over there.
