Ed's Automotive Center

This review is long overdue. I have been coming to Ed's Automotive Center & Auto Repair for 5+ years. This is who I bring my cars to when I am in over my head or just don't want to deal with critical and sensitive work. So, I brought my girlfriends Lexus IS300 get the timing belt and components to be replaced. Due to the fact that it is IMPORTANT to make sure the timing lines are all lined up, I didn't want to risk me doing the work, because I would be buying a new engine all together. After the timing components were removed I was informed that there were other parts that should be replaced. (CAM SEAL & CRANK SEAL) I appreciate Ed's Automotive Center because if they wanted to, they could've put everything back together and seen me 6 months later with failing cam and crank seals which would require LABOR to remove the components once again. Instead of paying 2x the labor for removal I APPROVED the change order to get the work done while everything was taken apart. They also informed me that a few intake hoses were needing to be replaced. Instead of ordering a $50+ hose from Lexus, Ed simply cut some hose to size and replaced it for pennies on the dollar. After picking up the vehicle, we were informed that we needed new tires and to be careful about ignoring it. This is why I love this place. They don't force anything on you. I think people like Robert M. who left a review in 2019 for shady mechanic work are the problem. Robert M. APPROVED the work to be done. If you approve of something additional to be done, you will pay extra for it. Replacing a valve cover is not going to cause piston or valve damage. I can say with 100 percent confidence that Ed's Automotive is the best shop in the valley and greater LA area....pound for pound! I now have piece of mind knowing that my girlfriend isn't going to break down on the side of the road and need an engine replacement. Thank you for everyone's exceptional service and integrity.
