I highly recommend American TIre and Service Center. They recently did some work on my car and my daughters car. They were so accommodating, even gave me a ride back home while they worked on my car. Their prices are the best in town, I was almost shocked. They are very knowledgeable and helpful.

Bad Service Towards Military F...

Bad Service Towards Military Family:

I spoke with John at the service counter and told him I wanted to surprise

my fiancé by restoring his 65' Mustang who was in Afghanistan. I told John

all I had was $1000.00 dollars and to do what he could for that amount. I

also said start with the breaks first. After weeks of not hearing from him

I called to check on the progress and he said the Engine wasn't turning, but

he fixed the breaks? My first issue was they pulled the engine out of the

car without letting me know, so in a panic I called my finance in

Afghanistan to ruin the now "not so great" surprise and asked him what I

should do about the car? Well he then calls John and tells him the motor

was turning just fine when he left for Afghanistan and wanted to know why

it's not turning now? John said he would take a look at it. More weeks fly

by and still no call from John (of course). My finance finally returns home

and goes to American Tire to see the progress, well you guessed it, no

progress at all sooooooooooo after months of back and forth with John, my

fiancé gets tired of the run-a-round and pays American Tire $1000.00 for the

breaks which should have cost half of that and then gets a tow truck to pick

the car up and drop it off at our house. When we get the car we open the

hood and the engine wasn’t there?!?!? YEP it was thrown in the back of the

TRUNK!!!!!!!!!!!! My fiancé calls John and John said it would be easier to

change out new parts WHAT A LAZY PIECE OF CRAP!

Overall
The BEST repair shop I have ever had!

The first time I went to American Tire on Dorchester Rd I had ripped a chunk out of my tire when I hit a curb back in mid 2008. I was in a fairly big hurry as I had plans that evening, so I needed to get it fixed fast and as cheap as possible since I live on a fairly tight budget. American Tire was actually the third place I hit (the first two couldn't get me in any sooner then an hour). I explained my situation and they immediately put my car on a lift and changed my tire while working on another car at the same time right next to mine! I was in and out in 20 minutes and they only charged me $45!

I was so impressed that when my other car broke down a few months later I took it straight to them. They fixed my car (alternator, and some kind of brush needed to be replaced on my camaro z28, so not very cheap car to fix) and put two new tires on the front of it for $580 total. Funny thing is, I had taken the camaro to a local tire place not even a month before and they wanted $560, just for the tires!

Only once have I taken a car there and not had it fixed. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with the car (cruise control wasn't working) and after keeping it for two days they finally had to give up on it. Imagine my suprise when I went to pick up the car and they refused any payment for their time! They said they didn't fix it, so there was no reason for me to pay them. I was floored by the generosity the showed! Then later on when I took the car back for a different reason, they managed to figure out and fix the cruise control for me while correcting my other problem.

Today I took in my mini-van. I'm having some electrical problems and they aren't sure they are going to be able to fix it, but they took it in as soon as I dropped it off and told me they will call me by tomorrow with a diagnosis if they can come up with one. I am so comfortable and confident in them that I am willing to leave a review for them before I hear from them over my vehicle.

I recommend them to all my friends and if your looking for a good place for your car with friendly people who work hard and treat you and your wallet right, I would suggest you give them a call. They are very good at what they do and completely trust worthy. I've never even considered having to take my electronics out of the car when I leave it with them (ie-GPS, portable DVD player, ipod, etc) It's is definitely a place you can drive up to and know you will be taken care of. They treat you like family and I thank God everytime I have car trouble that I hit that curb a year and a half ago and came upon their establishment. A good repair shop is so hard to find.
