I would NEVER recommend such a terrible management company! My fiancee and I moved into Yorkshire Woods 6 months ago to a really nice (or so we thought) one bedroom, one bathroom loft apartment. Within the first few weeks, we began discovering high volumes of insects. We took photographs and presented it to the manager at Yorkshire Woods, Mr. Boyd. Without hesitation, he informed us that they were deer ticks and that this was common, since we lived by a small woods. We took his words for it. Big Mistake. Also, we dealt with a small rodent infestation when we first moved in and again just today. After the first month we began slowly seeing a higher volume of bugs as the months progressed. After it became worse, we notified Mr. Boyd, the manager and he asked us to collect specimens to give to the pest control company for analysis. We did. We received a phone call 2 days later, we were informed that we had "BAD NEWS." turns out our unit was infested with Bed Bugs. Immediately after informing us if this, Mr. Boyd went on to say that, anytime a unit is infested with bed bugs, the treatment costs fall on the tenants. We recorded all phones calls. A few days later our unit was treated and I showed the pest professional our photos from when we first moved in and asked him if those were deer ticks. He instantly replied, "No, those are bed bugs." He informed us that based on the life cycle of bed bugs and their size, he concluded that this infestation was much older than 5 months and that we weren't responsible. Later that day, Brookwood assumed liability for the treatments. However, legally, since they provided us with a "pre-infested," and unsanitary/inhabitable residence, they legally broke the lease, yet refused to allow us to end the lease and receive an abatement of 5 months rent at $869/month. They are the most unprofessional company that I've ever had the displeasure of conducting official business with. They take advantage of their tenants and treat them terribly.
