NTB National Tire & Battery

Recently, I tried to get an oil change and was told my drain plug was incorrectly forced into the oil pan and may not go back in once it was removed. I was very hesitant about having them remove the oil plug since it could result in having to purchase a new oil pan. The manager told me they would "try it anyway." They removed the plug and told me it could not be put back in. He said he could not let me leave this shop and I would have to have my car towed. I know legally they are not allowed to keep me or my car at their shop. He told me I shouldn't be "emotional" or surprised that this happened. I think it is very disrespectful to talk that way to a customer, even if they are a woman. He priced the oil pan and said with labor the cost would be over $400! I told him I was not interested in having them fix it and would get it repaired somewhere else. He continued to tell me he didn't want me to leave because the car could break down at any moment and he wouldn't be responsible. I told him to try to put the plug back in and that I wouldn't drive it until I had it repaired. Only then did he let me leave. They are not respectful to customers, they often take phone calls in the middle of speaking to you. I waited over an hour to be told they didn't think they could change my oil. I won't be returning to that location.
