Not a good place unprofessional from the lady at the front desk to salesman, financing to management just a bad experience
Be careful of the shady business practices: CAVEAT EMPTOR - Buyer Beware! The tax, title & license were NOT included in the loan but they DID manage to sell me an extended warranty.
Wish I'd read the 2010 review of the same thing happening to another customer. I arrived at the OK License Tag Bureau to get the new license plate and discovered that I had to pay over $ 900 of unpaid sales tax. In over 40 years of buying and selling cars, I've never been treated with such deception by either an individual or a car dealership.
If I never take my vehicle back to Fowler, it will be too soon. I'm going to find another dealership to use even if I have to drive to Tulsa for service.
I've also had issues with the service dept claiming that I hadn't read the owner's manual for my previous Toyota van when I couldn't remove the middle seat. The service person made a comment to the service manager (that he didn't expect me to hear) about there being nothing wrong with the seat and that I should read the manual. Turns out the service person didn't even try to remove the seat or he would have discovered that the mechanism was bent and couldn't be removed. I had to personally go out and ask him to remove the seat. He tried and couldn't do it then admitted there must be something wrong. He had to take it back into the shop and finally fix it. Arrogant ignorant idiot...deceptive sales people...
Deception and arrogance are not the best characteristics for a car dealership...BUYER BEWARE!
Buy your next vehicle from Fowler Toyota! Ask for Louis Parris. He is the best salesperson we have met in a long time. He is very patient and helpful. He ensures that you will find the perfect vehicle. He also makes sure that the negotiation process goes smoothly.
John Downs, finance manager also took the time to make sure that we were at ease with the finance end of the deal. He took the time to go over the numbers several times until I was happy everything was in order.
Make sure to hit the easy button next time you buy a vehicle and ask for Louis and John at Fowler Toyota.
First of all, Toyota is the best car maker on the planet. This review has absolutely nothing to do with Toyota.
Fowler, on the other hand, gave me the worst car buying experience (attempted car buying anyways) that I have ever had. Corey, the salesman, was just fine. He was eager to make the sale and always responded to me quickly, even on his days off. But the sales managers and finance department were playing games with me the entire time. I tried leasing a Camry with Fowler for 2 weeks as a company vehicle. All they had to do was Fedex the paperwork to my boss in another state. Numerous lies and broken promises were given to me over the course of a week and a half. I was told to come in to the dealership and made to wait long periods of time. I was given the runaround on the phone and promised calls back that never came. I was given tracking numbers for Fedex that were bogus. I was then told they had to wait until the car came in (they did a dealer trade) before they could send out the paperwork because they needed the VIN number... are you kidding me?? The VIN number was printed right on my offer sheet that I got the very first day I was in there. I was lied to by the finance manager, John Downs, multiple times. He was condescending and rude from the start. He tried to shove a $420 lease down my throat when any lease calculator clearly showed it to be $300. But clearly I didn't understand leases and GAP coverage and blah blah blah.
While all of this was going on they were trying very hard to get me to take delivery of the vehicle. This is a common game in the auto business as they will change the terms on you after you take the car, especially if you do a trade-in, which will mysteriously disappear or be sold. Then you are stuck with the car and a giant interest rate or payment or you can turn the car back in and pay exorbitant fees for each mile you put on it in the meantime... IF they let you bring it back. All they had to do was drop the paperwork in the mail and they would have made money. Instead their greed cost them this time.
Miserable experience. I am glad I walked away but I am sorry Corey didn't get a sale. Don't ever set foot on Fowler's lot.
Again, Good Service people should not lie to customer. Bad Service-
Simply awful. Extremely pushy salesman who didn't seem to know a lot. As we tried to leave he fetched his manager who began to badger us more and more. We felt trapped. Finally I had to tell them the price of the car didn't matter and we wouldn't be buying from them ever. They made us feel worse than any car dealership. Ever. Period.
Let me start by saying that I have no issues with Toyota as a car manufacture. The reason Fowler gets an 'awful' rating from me is the after sale service you get once you leave with your car. I was sold a warranty through the Advantage program at Fowler. The finance guy assured me that any issue I would have would be convered and I would simply pay a 100 dollar deductible.....just sign here kind of deal..... WRONG! He kept the fact that Advantage warranties are line by line warranties disclosed from me. These warranties are crap. What is not covered is everything that breaks....ie....ac relay, heated seats (like what is broke after two months in my van) but what is covered are items like struts, ac compressor, and things that hardly ever go out unless they are physically damaged which oh by the way would exclude them from warranty coverage. BLUF do not buy a warranty from Fowler. They are crooks and they get a cut for selling you the crap warranty.
Secondly.......let me catch my breath. When I attempted to contact the guy about the warranty issue he was on vacation so I was directed to another guy who did attempt to steer me in the right direction to resolve my issues. However after he explained to me that his vehicle has a warranty and he knows what it covers I realized I was being made a mockery out of. .
There is an EXTREME leadership challenge facing Fowler Toyota. I think the only reason they sell vehicles to people like me is the fact that I trusted Toyota as a car company and I "assumed" (I hate to use that word) that their sales representatives carried over the pride that Toyota takes in its cars to the service after the sale. Be very cautious when dealing with Fowler.
My recommendation. If you want a Toyota, go to Norton in Lawton. I took my busted van from Fowler there, and Willie in the service department changed my oil and got my ac working FREE OF CHARGE. Why you ask??? Because he said he was tired of dealing with people getting screwed by Fowler and wanted to help me out. I am a Soldier not a salesman. Do your self a favor and RUN AWAY from Fowler Toyota.
Thought my sister was getting a fair deal on a 2010 Scion. At the time of signing, we went over the price and all the charges, specificaly asking about the license plate. We were told it was included in the price of the car (as it usually is). Dealer tag ran out and we never got a call. My sister had to make a few calls...left messeges and never got a response back. She finally had to drive back to the dealership only to hear that the state must have made a mistake with the paperwork so another paper tag was issued for 1 week. Sister later found out that the mistake was the dealership entering the wrong address. License plate never came again, after several phone calls and leaving messeges (no return messeges again) she had to drive down and ask in person again, got the paperwork that she needed and then had to plunk down $697 for her plate! Of course this makes the deal $697 higher than we originaly were told. They lied and said they covered this with us...would never buy a car from these folks or Toyota for that matter ever again! They rushed the all important survey to us the day after the original purchase...wish we could take the high marks we gave them back. Don't buy from these people unless you have a lawyer present.
Toward the end of March, I called Fowler to help me find the exact Highlander my wife was looking for. I had been working with another dealership, but they could not come up with the vehicle. When I called, I spoke with Chris Maritt. Chris was responsive, courteous, professional, and most importantly honest. The car we wanted was sitting on his lot. We had a hassle free discussion, and agreed to a price within about 15 minutes. I had researched the invoice pricing through Consumer Reports, so I knew what I was willing to pay. He had to call me back to finalize, which he did promptly. He made arrangements for me to drive to Norman and pick the car up. The car was exactly what he said and at the exact price he said. It was clean and waiting for us out front when we arrived. I was so impressed. After we purchased the car, we decided to have window tint, auto start, and mud guards installed. Chris made all the arrangements, and my wife said it was a hassle-free environment. Upon completion, the tint was not what was agreed to. Chris immediately handled it. He arranged to have the Highlander picked up, redone, and returned to me at work. I could not believe it. A week later, Chris followed up to see how everything was going. I was stunned. I wrote this post because of all the negative reviews I saw. I had a perfect car buying experience! I would encourage anyone looking for a Toyota to give Fowler a visit or call. It will be the place I buy my next car too, and do yourself a favor . . . ask for Chris.
Bring the contract home to read every single word before you sign the contract. They will verbally offer you a good deal but the paper works say otherwise. We were tricked and lost $1000, that's almost 10% of the value of the car we bought. NEED TO BE CAREFUL. WE WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN AND WILL NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE. THIS PLACE TRICK PEOPLE.
The sales guy, David B., was great. The finance people are there to RIP YOU OFF. They made me wait for about 1 1/2 hours, and in retrospect I feel as if they did it simply to wear me down and make me sign anything to get out the door. It's my own damn fault for signing anything when I was tired, but BEWARE -- Do NOT agree to any additions to your agreed-upon sales price. The finance guy said, "For an extra $8 per month, you can get all this coverage." He was LYING. It turned out to be an additional 35% over the sales price, and I feel as if I was totally screwed. I have a graduate degree, and I'm an intelligent person, but I was tired and felt like I was completely taken advantage of. I had bought three previous cars from Fowler, but it is NOT the dealership that it used to be, and I will NEVER return. The moral of the story is, do NOT believe them when they say it's just a few extra dollars per month. They are going to rip you off and make you pay hundreds for extras that do not make a lick of difference in the quality of the deal -- it is totally a case of "additional dealer profit." I will never buy another car from them again, and they are no better than the slimiest bad-suit-wearing, corner-parking-lot, lemon-selling rip-off joints on this planet. FOWLER TOYOTA SUCKS!!!!!
I bought a 2005 solara from Fowler in 2006, think I was buying a good used car. My car was hit in the front end recently. and to my surprise when I took it in to an auto body man I found out that it had extencive front end damage. The headlights were actually GLUED into the body of the car, and the front end was screwed together with BONDO over the screws. When i contacted Fowler they assured me they would go look at it. They were very rude to my mechanic and told him QUOTE " there are alot of area's to work in when it comes to certified toyota car. You can have damage to 3 sides and it can still be a certified car!!!!!" When they called me it ended up being my tuff luck. Of course. They told me if it had never been hit, you probably would never have known about it. They are great when your there buying because that's their commision. but after that TUFF LUCK!!!!!!!
We recently visited fowler toyota and was seriously thinking about purchasing a car. the salesman did not know very much about the cars and steered us towards several cars that did not meet our needs. When we decided to leave he ran in to get his manager who came out immediately and tried to badger us into staying. We were ready to leave (because of severe weather) and eventually his tone became combative and he yelled "she just doesn't know anything about buying a car". Well, what I do know about buying a car is that it will never be at Fowler Toyota. This is the second instance when we have been insulted from the manager on down at this location
Complete waste of time. Our trade miraculously developed mysterious problems and wasn't worth anything. An Oklahoma City toyota dealer couldn't seem to find any mysterious problem. Guess what ? We bought a car from them. You blew it fowler !!
This dealership values the customer & strives to ensure their satisfaction. Many long-time employees that really care about the operation.
