Dental Examination
Four out of five people have periodontal disease and don’t know it! Most people are not aware of it because the disease is usually painless during the early stages. Unlike tooth decay, which often causes discomfort, it is possible to have periodontal disease without noticeable symptoms. Having regular dental check-ups and periodontal examinations are very important and will help detect if periodontal problems exist.
X-rays
Dental x-rays are crucial to your preventative care and in diagnosing and treating many dental conditions. They use a minimal amount of radiation so that they’re safe for most patients. X-rays are typically taken at most of your appointments as a way to monitor your dental health and understand underlying issues. We recommend having a full set of x-rays taken every few years.
Oral Cancer Screening
Oral cancer screening: Check the face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues, and gums for any signs of oral cancer.

Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride treatments are essential for protecting and strengthening teeth. While they’re most beneficial for children, any of our patients can request fluoride treatments, regardless of age. The process of applying fluoride is easy and quick, taking only seconds in our office. We can apply these treatments at each of your bi-annual checkup appointments.
Dental Sealants
Sealants are protective coverings that are applied to the biting surfaces of the back teeth. They help to form a barrier between the tooth and the bacteria in your mouth. Sealants can prevent cavities, as well as deep staining, in the grooves of your teeth. They can last for one to three years and can be easily reapplied as needed.

Fillings
Although studies indicate that there are no measurable health risks to patients who have silver fillings, we do know that mercury is a toxic material when we are exposed at high, unsafe levels. For instance, we have been warned to limit the consumption of certain types of fish that carry high levels of mercury in them. However, with respect to amalgam fillings, the ADA maintains that when the mercury combines with the other components of the filling, it becomes an inactive substance that is safe.
Resin Composite
The first step is administering a local anesthetic to the area. We then remove all decay from the tooth and prepare the tiny hole for the new filling. We use composite resin (tooth-colored) fillings that blend well with your existing smile. The filling is smoothed and detailed so that it looks seamless with your natural tooth. The material is then hardened into place with a bright curing light. Once finished, you’ll be ready to go home and enjoy your brand new filling.
Veneers
Veneers can drastically change the look of your smile. These thin, porcelain shells are attached to the front of your smile and can work to cover flaws and imperfections. If you’re unhappy with your smile and ready for a change, veneers are a great go-to option for many patients. Despite being lightweight and thin in nature, most veneers can last for up to 10 years before you may need to replace them.
Crowns
Dental crowns are meant to cover teeth that have been compromised in order to maintain the look and functionality of a particular tooth. When a tooth breaks, cracks, or fractures, it’s considered compromised, and it’s important to have a crown placed. CEREC crowns are made the same day that you come in for your initial appointment. They eliminate the need to come in for a second appointment just to have the permanent crown placed.
Bridges
The most common reason for requiring a dental bridge is because you’re missing a tooth. Most often a bridge contains two abutment teeth that will be attached to your natural dentition. The middle tooth is false, and simply sits on top of the gum line to replace what’s missing. Not only do bridges help to restore your full, beautiful smile, but they’re also beneficial in helping to maintain proper oral functioning.
Dental Bonding
You may need dental bonding if you have a tooth that is cracked or chipped. The bonding covers this area, helping to rebuild the full structural look of the tooth. Likewise, bonding can be beneficial in covering spaces and gaps between teeth, and building on teeth that are shorter and more uneven than others. Bonding is an easy procedure done in our office, requiring little to no anesthetic.

Root Canal Treatment
Each of your teeth has a small pulp on the inside, which houses the blood supply and nerves. When this pulp becomes infected by decay, or exposed due to a crack or fracture in the tooth, it may need to be removed. Root canals are incredibly common procedures, and help to retain the overall structure of a compromised tooth. This prevents the need for an extraction, while simultaneously eliminating any pain or sensitivity specific to that tooth.

Deep Cleaning
We can examine your gums for signs of gingivitis and gum disease during each of your bi-annual appointments. Most people who have gum disease will benefit from a scaling and root planing. There are other periodontal treatments available if you have more advanced gum disease that wouldn’t improve with a simple deep cleaning. Because the procedure is easy and requires only local anesthetic, many of our patients find it easier than other periodontal treatments.

Dentures
A full denture and partial can be used to replace areas in the mouth that are missing teeth. Full dentures are more suitable for patients who are missing an entire arch of their natural teeth. Partials are worn like an orthodontic retainer, and hold only several false teeth to replace just what’s missing. Both appliances can last for about seven years before needing replacement.

Dental Implants
We begin the full mouth reconstruction process with a consultation. The consultation involves examining your teeth and determining what type of work is needed. In some cases, you may benefit from just one or two different procedures. Other patients may need more invasive work, such as dental implants and bridge work, to help improve the look of their smile. We personalize each smile makeover so that it fits your needs perfectly. The process involves creating a treatment plan, and then completing the work that is needed to obtain that full, beautiful smile.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
In order for implants to work for you, you should have enough healthy bone structure so that the post can fuse naturally over the course of a few months. You should be healthy enough to undergo oral surgery and be able to heal from the procedure afterwards. We can perform an exam to determine if you would benefit from, or need, an implant. Most people who want implants can safely have the procedure done in our office.
Maxillofacial Surgery
Dr. David Dano received his DMD from the prestigious Hebrew University Hadassah School of Dental Medicine in Jerusalem, Israel, as well as from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. After working as an Associate Dentist in Tel Aviv, Dr. Dano continued to post-graduate studies and received a Certificate in Advanced Education in general dentistry (AEGD) from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine and a Certificate of Internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from The University of Connecticut.
Tooth Extractions
Tooth extractions involve fully removing your natural teeth. They are done as a way to improve or maintain optimal oral health. Some extractions are done because a tooth is painful, problematic, or unable to be treated any other way. Other extractions are performed in an attempt to prevent future problems from occurring, as you’ll find with wisdom teeth. We provide extractions in a relaxed, comfortable, and easy manner in our office.

Orthodontics
Orthodontics: Less visible and more effective brackets and wires are making straightening teeth with orthodontics much more appealing to adult patients. Also, in some cases, teeth may be straightened with custom-made, clear, removable aligners that require wires or brackets to be attached to teeth.
Invisalign Orthodontics
Invisalign is a type of orthodontic treatment that is ideal for patients not wanting bulky metal wiring and brackets. The Invisalign system uses a series of clear trays known as aligners. These aligners help to apply gentle pressure to the teeth, correcting issues with crowding and crookedness. The treatment is ideal for older children, teens, and adult patients alike.
Braces
You may need or want Invisalign treatment if you have severely overcrowded or crooked teeth. Additionally, patients with an overbite or underbite will benefit from this treatment as well. Invisalign is ideal for patients who don’t want to wear traditional metal braces. The aligners need to be worn for the majority of the day and night in order for treatment to be effective.

Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening can remove years of stains and discoloration from your natural teeth. We utilize two different whitening systems at our office. The first is known as BriteSmile, which is an in-office treatment that can be done in about an hour. Our take-home whitening option is called Day White, because the whitening trays are worn for about an hour each day, providing drastic results you can achieve in the comfort of your own bedroom.

He continued his post-graduate training in an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center/School of Dentistry.
